if you turn the "gain" up to high on the amp you will clip the signal causing the amp to send a "square" wave to the sub instead of a nice smooth sine wave. Clipping=dirty power and blown sub

I use a slot port and about 14-16 sq inches of port per cubic foot space is a good general place to start and 4" aero port has only about 12.566 sp inches and with that box is not even 4" of port per cube

That is not enough por area at all. You are going to choke that sub of air. I would use atleast 2 if not 3 and then your length needs to increase as well, you'll also lose air space. The small the box you have the more"peaky" it will be. The larger the smoother the response curve. and trunk space with a 15 is not always the best unless your trunk is huge because it takes alot of space up and resrict air space

how deep is that port? and that might be a little big so dont be gain happy while setting the amp. also i dno if you know this or not but dont use bass boost and set your sub sonic filter to about 25hz

not saying you cant play them daily just saying that i didn't see how good the cooling is on those subs for the motor so im guessing that the motor is deff losing a good amount of strength. MOST neo's have that problem. you can play the sub as long as you want. that doesn't mean it hasn't been losing strength

Im unfamiliar with the cooling of Dc's neo motors so i would like to see a thermal test just to see how well they cool themselves just cause i haven't really seen the motor design and what i saw was the coil next to the magnets. And that guy isn't talking out of his ass. you get Neo hot the motor strength goes down exponentially. Wonder if this counts as me talking shit. Nick im thinking you should hit up the lvl 6's

Im confused as to why you need to fill the 13 cubes.. also is this before of after displacement.... and ppl really need to pay attention yo your price range i HIGHLy doubt the lvl4 cost 250... the BL doesn't cost 250.. The SSD is a good bet fully load it and set the gains correctly and you should be fine. Also the lvl3 might not be able to handel that power. If its 13 cubes after displacement 18's would be your best bet but if it before you could get away with 15's.. Also what are your goals?

Air flow.. That weird bracing under the sub will cause the air flow to not be optimal and creat terbulance(sp?) and im guessing some dead spots too

big price difference.. i'd do the AQ 2200 just because of my experience with them.... Also that box is going to have some SERIOUS flow issues

dual 2 ohm sub get it fully loaded. And do you want more SPL or Sq? what kind of music do you listen to? I have 4 of these.. well the old style but i have friends with the new ones and they are BEAST hooked an aq 3500.1 to one 18 lol

or just buy a used bigger amp that'll do 2k at 2ohms.MUCH better then .5ohms, even 1ohm

He doesn't have enough power for bl's granted he could make up for it in the box but he already decided I liked sealing my trunk but it also does change the peak of the car i noticed my car peaked higher with it sealed off. And i didn't uses bolts or anything the car took a crap on me before i could really finish it and seal it off properly.
