Interview tomorrow!
alvitae replied to BLuejoules's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
This may sound dumb, But speak like your mama raised you right. When someone asks me for a job and they talk street and thug I say "I"ll let you know". When people talk to me in a mannerly fashion I know they probably had other good qualities instilled from their upbringing as well. Edit: And I'm in construction. The ability to lift heavy things is the big one so in retail it's probably even more important -
I got in on waivers. If they want you you will get in. I think some of it depends on the aptitude test you take. I scored really high on it and they said we will just sweep this little problem of your under the rug and I was on the bus before I knew it. If I had to do it again I would have went to Ocs and became an Officer. But the tour I did in the Army is something I've never regretted doing and is the one thing in my life I would do again if I had to do it over. If someone is joining just for a job I'd say it isn't worth it. But if you are joining for the right reasons it's a great thing to do.

4 pb 12s in a acura 3000w

My first subs, That I bought anyway were the PS-12's. 45$ apiece. I really can't say enough about them for the price. They won me a lot of trophys that summer at local competitions. Even first place at region 8 Usaci in the stock class. 2 of them in the trunk with an old kenwood supposedly pushing 900 watts in a pre-fab box. 142.1 db term-lab. I did everything you aren't supposed to do to those poor things. Running double peak wattage daily. Full gain and bass boost for a real nice clipped signal (hey I was learning) and they are still going strong to the guy I sold them to. -

Which series are those, I've had most of the new ones so far. The ps's up to the 3xls. I'd like to jump up to the 4xl. Any sub the manufacturer tells you to strap 4 4000 watt amps to I gotta try -
Find out who this is ^^^ if you don't know already then follow him word for word

Looks like it was a blast. Wish I could have been there. Germany is the coolest place I have ever been to. Would like to go back some time. -

True, But I think the point is that these are professionals that people who don't know anything turn to for advice. I've seen these so called "professionals" tell me to my face that companys like Digital Design suck and I should get the Sony over there. Not only that but the average audio store employee that I've ran across so far knows less than 75% of the people that frequent this forum. You would think they would learn about what is out there. -

"Build it and they will come" Start competing locally and I bet in no time they will be saying they loved Dc all along I am not loud by any stretch of the imagination. But when I started competing last spring I pretty much ran a unique system. I started winning. Last comp I was against 3 guys who had the same amp and close to the same sub set up as me. But not a Crx and as much battery power -
Kids are at comps sometimes.

The good news is you still have your audio, They are bigger thieves than crackheads. -

Man I feel your pain, There is no one I hate worse than tow truck drivers. I swear they screw your car up on purpose. And if you have anything in there they like it's theirs. Audio, Tools. Whatever. -
Which car would you get?

I will never buy a Chrysler product again, New or used. Worst customer service I have ever had. -
I have a 2 of those PB asa 1000d. I am in no way saying to do this but just letting you know what I have done and what they are capable of. I have 2 3xl dvc 1 ohms. I have each amp on one sub at a half ohm with a 60 amp alternator and two Kinetik 1800's. No problems so far. Last weekend I entered a competition that went by amp size so I hooked both subs up to one amp making it a quarter ohm. I had to do 6 runs because it was elimination style. It was a hot day. Forgot my tone cd so that was on music. Took first place. Not a problem with the amp at all. Of course I may get a lot of box rise and some one else may not. Plus competing is my hobby so if I blow an amp I just buy a new one and call it part of the game.

Crap I missed it. The wife fed me like it was my last meal or something and I passed out after I ate. -
That and upgrading grounds. People that are new to audio frequently underestimate the grounds. It is just as if not more important than power I've found. I've got my biggest gains, And also biggest headaches from the grounds.

Not a fan of capacitors myself. Even of they do help there are better and cheaper ways to go. The cheapest electrical upgrade you can do is the big 3. It's usually where you start. The one here is my favorite big 3 tutorial. Big 3 tutorial
