  1. Hello All, I was curious since I have not seen it done anywhere, if I have a universal mount (can utilize top posts or side posts) battery, would it be possible to utilize both the side terminals and top posts without issues?? The reason I ask is I have a '98 Camaro that uses the side posts; however, I was about to upgrade my wiring (big-3 and 0 gauge runs from front to back) and feel it would be MUCH easier to leave the regular stock connections the way they are on the side posts and hook up all the additional wiring for my big-3 upgrade and my 0 gauge power runs to the top posts instead. Would there be any issues with doing so? And if I go this route, would I need to add battery terminals to both the positive and negative and run a new negative ground to the chasis, or would the stock ground from the side posts cover the ground for the entire battery, causing no need to run another ground from the top post? Any information you guys could provide would be truly appreciated!!! I did a couple searches on the forum and through google and couldn't find anyone with a setup similar to what I am explaining, so not sure if it is really all that possible..... Thanks for your time and assistance!
  2. LMFAO!!! How often do you see a response from someone pointing you to page 296 and 297 of a forum post, well, a post that is semi work safe at least... hehehe Awesome work Steve!! Been watching this thing for a long time now and can't wait to see that one final picture (probably on page 420 is my guess http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/01nocomment8so.gif ) of you handing the keys off to Chicken for the last time!!!!
  3. Oh my... this has got mine attention (along with half the USA I'm sure )!!!! Interested to see how they trim it all out and such, can't imagine much of anything inside that truck staying in place long once that volume starts to get above 1/10th max settings.... can you say http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif !!!!! Grats guys, looking forward to more pics and vids in the future, can't wait to see the numbers this beast puts up.....
  4. I have always stayed with the Pioneer Premier brand units. Excellent features, SQ, easy to navigate, etc. I've heard of people having "noise" caused by a bad ground on the Pioneer decks, but I have never personally ran into any issues of this sort. I purchased a good little Kenwood deck for my wife, and even though the looks aren't the best, it's got some great features for the price point..... still need to play with an Eclipse and JVC decks, seen what looks to be some nice units out of these guys, but have not had the ability to play around with them much....
  5. Got any pictures by chance??? Really, just curious which year/model these are since their cosmetic appearances are fairly different... feel free to PM or post them here so that I can determine if I'm interested. Thanks for your time and assistance!
  6. worst part is, seems like most of these "going out of business" sales that I have seen lately have their prices jacked up and the "discount" they speak of brings it back down to the original price usually.... CHECK PRICE TAGS!!! Usually you will see multiple prices on an item, the original and a new one over that with the "discount" price listed. Peel this discounted tag up a little and look at the original price tag. A buddy of mine found this issue and when he brought it to the attention of the manager (clerks wouldn't help him out) the manager went ahead and charged the original price but doubled the discount, think he got 30% off instead of 15% when he brought this situation to the attention of the manger..... just something to look for and try out if you are going to their stores any time soon....
  7. That would be one hell of a fun project car.... knowing how nice of a car this can be.... and look at that CARGO AREA!!!! Would love to see Meade pick this bad boy up and throw 6 18's in there :hairtrick: If only I had an extra 6 G's sitting around... hehehe Nice little project car and good luck with the sale!!
  8. It is possible if you left your RCA's loose and they came into contact with eachother that you caused a short to occur....
  9. Did I just read that right, $1,599 AFTER a savings of $500?!?!? That just seems stupid (and not stupid in a good way... hehehe)!!! Anyone know of someone that's been crazy enough to purchase one of these things??? Just don't see any benefits that would justify that type of a price tag.... maybe I missed something, does it include it's own asian massuse (sp?) or something?!?!?!
  10. Just thought I'd post it here in case nobody else has seen the deals over at woofersetc lately. Seems they are having some CRAZY deals right now. CDT EF-61FG/TW25 Pro CDT's are selling for 169.99 currently, savings of over $400..... Just thought I'd share, would be semi interested if I didn't have my e9.65's on order already (only a few more weeks to wait!!!!). I've never seen any issues with posting deals on other websites, but if this violates some sort of policy I am unaware of, please let me know and feel free to move/delete at your discretion!!
  11. That's what she said!!! hehehe Sorry guys, couldn't resist the little "Office" humor there....
  12. Interesting, I never would have even thought about there being much of a difference, especially since it's not "up converting" videos unless they were on DVD format of some sort.... I might have to look into this, thanks for the idea Paul!
  13. Heck... another idea you might consider is leaving your "videos" section up, but just with a picture and caption of what the video is, and have them link you to the youtube version when you click on the link to watch the video. Just a thought, not sure how serious you are about getting your number of views increased, but hey, thought I'd throw that out there...
  14. Man, if that's the case, I'll make sure to pull you up on YouTube and watch videos fom now on. Is there some sort of a "No Self Promotion" clause or anything?? Just curious since I have never seen you promote your users to access your youtube content. Mind providing your screen name by chance? Put any reference to you; Steve Meade, stevemeade916, meade916, SLAMMIN HO!!!.... well, maybe not that last one, and you come up with all sorts of videos, just want to go to your profile and choose your vids directly, make it easier on me that way at least..... also, might wanna think about a self promotion on your home page or the forum home page... just an idea. Not that you REALLY need any more help, word of mouth spreads fast for you and your builds..... Congrats by the way on 10 million hits, wonder if we have ourselves the first profile that will reach 1 BILLION views!!!!
  15. Man.... can't you get them youtube execs to dish out a penny per view at least?!?!?!..... you'd have made $100K already in a year..... HOLY :censored: !!!!!! hehehe Keep it up man.... I can honestly say though, I have never watched any of your videos anywhere except on this site. Do you receive any type of compensation by chance? If so, just let us all know, sure we'd be more than happy to hit a few vids a day for you, be nice to think that we helped fund one of your projects.....
  16. Appreciate that little extra piece of info K, would hate to grab the wrong one and have a :censored: of a time getting it routed through the car....
  17. excellent, thanks for the fast input fella's, it is truly appreciated! I'll have to go check out that welding wire, been hearing more and more people using it lately....
  18. Hello all, I am in the final stages of gathering products for my next install, but I am trying to find a semi-decent price on some power wire. The last time I performed an install, copper was no where near as pricey as it is these days. I'm looking for some 1/0 gauge to run from the battery to a distro block in the trunk, along with enough to complete the "Big 3".... the car I have is a '98 Camaro. Just curious where to find the best prices on good wire is, and roughly how much you think I will need (I'm thinking 40 feet would suffice). Any assistance you guys could provide would be truly appreciated!!
