  1. Ahhh, good ole dicknaybers. I'm in South Fla so our grass is green year round so Roundup is a great tool to use on dicknaybers. Get a good pump sprayer and set it to a fine stream instead of a spray. Make real big letters, otherwise the dead spots will run together. I'd say about 6' tall letters should be ok and write "F**K YOU" on there front yard. About a week to 2 weeks later it starts to show up, and when its done its hilarious. I like the opossum idea, thats rich !!! We had dicknaybers in an apartment once. They would call anytime we turned the stereo on or the tv too loud. We had a friend bring his home system over, back then it was real loud. We would place the speakers with the 15's in them right up against the wall that was adjacent to the neighbor. Cranked that thing until we saw the cops coming. From this apartment, there is only one road in / out and you can see it across a lake. We would see the deputies coming and we would turn it down before they were in earshot. Cops would tell us about the noise complaint and we'd be like "This is loud as we play it sir, they always complain about everything" Cops would be like, ok, just keep it down and have a nice day. Soon as we would see them go pass the lake, we'd crank it back up !!!! Good times....
  2. I've seen those before, usually in the health food / organic type stores. I've never tried them though.
  3. It got snatched while it was in your mentors pickup? That sucks dude, on the bright side, at least they didn't snatch it out of your own car with some of your other equipment.
  4. I already have a Craftics drill bit, but I've never used it, so thanks for the "In/Out" tip
  5. What thickness of plexi is good enough for a ported enclosure with 2 15" nightshades? Just a window, not the whole thing
  6. What size drill and tap do you guys use when you make your busbars?
  7. Anything 80hz and above, you really need to look at your components. That is the area where your midbass drivers should be.
  8. Damn dude, you got them 18's moving real good now !!! Nice Job !!! 97 Maxima FTMFW !!!!
  9. If its missing the higher stuff it could be that you don't have any decent midbass. What do you have besides the subs?
  10. Hehehe, you read my mind. Check out my build log, I posted the test fit today. box isn't slid all the way in yet (stock bose speakers in the way) but it gives you an idea. The front of the box will be slightly recessed about an inch past the metal I cut out. Trunk sealed from cab, Subs foward as in pic and I was going to route the 2 6" aeroports out the top of the box through the deck, but I think I just changed my mind. I have JUST enough room to punch them through the baffle between the subs, one above and one below along the horizontal centerline which will put them facing right at the ski hole in the rear seat. the plan so far (at least calculated to 6cf net) was 2 6" aeros at 28" length for a tuning of 28hz. We will see what fits. Your thoughts are always welcome. By the way, I love the finish on your box, is that just a coat of resin?
  11. Hopefully one of the great sundown guys that helped test these subs can chime in. These are the copper coil 15D1 nightshades. My build is progressing nicely with the exception of a couple of space restrictions. In order to get past those issues, my 6cf net enclosure is going to have a final net volume after all displacements of 5.4cf. I'm still thinking of tuning it at 28 - 30 hz. Do you guys think that will be ok for these animals? One SAZ-3000D @1ohm will be powering them. Electrical is at 15.6v with 250amp alt and I'll add batts as needed to keep voltage from dropping. Thanks again, Bob.
  12. Kick pods. You replace the stock kick panels in your vehicle with custom made ones which have mids and tweets in them. Usually fiberglassed. The kicks are below the dash just in in front of the front doors.
  13. Are you referring to sealing off the trunk and having the subs and ports fire into the cabin?
  14. Yea, I'm thinking of getting some clear heatshrink tubing eventually.
  15. Before I finished running new grounds, I used a Stinger wire coupler, you can get them at Darvex 4g or 0g.
  16. Check to see if the belt is tight enough. A slipping belt can cause that.
  17. Robbie = great customer service. He has called me several times to make sure I got my alternator and MLA installed ok. I even called him once on his cell while he was driving his kids home from school and he walked me through a problem I was having which turned out to be a loose belt. He will always take the time to help you out. Good luck with your alt and MLA !! BTW, the alts are very well put together. Great idle specs too.
  18. I would make sure your belt is tight enough. I had the same problem when I installed my DCPower 250a alt. I was only getting around 13.5 volts even with a MLA installed. After tightenig down the belt, it went right up to 15.6 volts. A telltale sign would be if you hit the throttle while looking at the voltage, does the voltage drop a little when you rev it? If it does, you definitely have a slipping belt.
  19. You live in Miami? Try Lowes and Home Depot. Both stores carry 3/4" MDF for about 25 bucks a sheet.
  20. PAC TR-7 is the way to go. I'm getting one with my IVA-W505. I think the PAC even comes preprogrammed for the Alpine bypass, if not, the instructions tell you how to do it in like 5 minutes.
  21. Correct. The gain on the amp is adjustable so it will get full power from a deck with like .2 volts to over 6 volts.
