  1. What is your RPM when this is happening? I wonder if the RPM of the Alt is falling below its turn on speed when you are in Overdrive. Some Alts don't turn on until they hit a certain RPM. Just something to consider.
  2. Nothing against Darvex, that place rocks. But have you looked at knukonceptz? www.knukonceptz.com THey have a higher strand count (5145) and the price is low. Look at the Kolossus Fleks Kable.
  3. Registered !! If I win I'll pair it up with the 250a I got coming in next week from Rob !!!
  4. I noticed the subject of classic car audio stuff in another thread, so I thought I'd make my own. These are M&M Polypropylene 12" Woofers. Single 4ohm vc never been used. Before they went out of business they had a lifetime warranty. I blew the 2 that were installed and these are the replacements that were never installed. I'll post pics of my old Alpine pullout and Linear Power amp after I take them down from the attic.
  5. I still have an Alpine Pullout and a Linear Power 452iq up in the attic and a pair of M&M Poly 12" woofers in my closet hehehe. M&M's never been used. Classic
  6. Sundown SAZ-1500D $475 Shipped at ***. Link --> Click Here
  7. The site says "Available in Dual 2 Ohm or Dual 4 Ohm " so I would check each coil for a dc resistance of 2 or 4 ohm. The DC Resistance will usually measure a little less than the impedance of the coil.
  8. The seller never really says what they are. I'm going to take a guess and say they are superflux type leds, but thats just a guess.
  9. Yea, it would be kinda hard to view a waveform on a DMM
  10. Not when you purchase bulk leds. They run off of 3 volts. Run them on 12v and say bye bye leds. If they prewire them, thats one thing. But my post was for bulk leds direct from hong kong.
  11. You could do that, but you need to make sure that you have a proper resistor in series with the LED. Either 1 resistor for each LED or 1 resistor for the array, but they need to be the proper value. The previous link can help you determine that. But since they will be all over the place, it just may be easier to get the LED's from the link I gave to the ebay store, he will give you the resistors for free. Just take 1 LED and 1 resistor, solder the resistor to the LED and then run your wires as you said to the switch and ground. Should work fine.
  12. LED Resistor Calculator That will help you figure out what size resistor you need to put in line with the LED's. THen just wire that circuit to 12 volts with a switch. The LED Series/Parallel array wizard on that site even will give you a schematic or wiring diagram. Go ahead and play around with it. For some starting values, my ultra bright blue leds have a "Diode Forward Voltage" of 3 volts and a "Diode Forward Current" of 20ma. Your source voltage will be 12 volts. Usually the current is about 20ma for the leds, but the different colors can have different voltages. My red ones have 2 volts as an example, but most are around 3 volts. But to put it simply, you can put a battery - switch - led - resistor - ground for a simple example. Just replace "led - resister" with the array it configures for you on that site.
  13. Just go to ebay Chi Wing LED Shop and buy a 100 for 10 bucks, he even throws in the resistors for free. You get a package with a bunch of chinese stamps on it too !!! Ships straight from hong kong. I've ordered many from them for PC Mods. Brighter than hell.
  14. No I haven't heard them. I was thinking of the fabric ones Seas Prestige 27TFFNC/G. Last metal tweets had was many years ago, I had the JBL Titanium Dome tweets. They sounded good, but really had to tweak the EQ to get them to sound good so I was thinking to use soft domes this time.
  15. I have not heard them in person, but from reading many posts on them, even though they get real loud, everyone says they sound great too. I'm not into competing, but I like to listen to my music loud but it has to sound good so they seemed like they would fit the bill really good. When Jacob used the term "Sick Lowend", that sold them for me. When he put these up for sale, I jumped on them as soon as I saw his post. I'll make a build log when I start fabricating, my guess is after xmas. I'm got to thank everyone in the forums, I think I've got a pretty start on my system and its all due to the advice I get here.
  16. Thanks !! They really are nice. I can't wait till I get the funds for the 3000d for subs.
  17. Its going in a 97 Maxima. I'm going to put the 8's in the stock speaker locations and the Nightshades will be behind the rear seat firing forward in a ported box thats about 5 1/2 cuft. 2 6" aeroports tuned to 25hz. There is a small chance I can get the ports to fire forward as well, but if not they will come up into the rear deck. The trunk will be sealed off from the cabin. Seas Neo Tweeters and Tang Band Underhung 6.5" mids for front stage and rear fill. For the front stage, I'm going to give Fiberglass a try and make some kickpods for the Tweets and mids, the rear fill will go in the rear deck with the 8's. I'm not to worried about the rear speaker placement, it is there mostly for rear channel from DVD's. The fader will keep it from messing with my front stage. One 100.4 will power the Sundown E8's as midbass. The other 2 100.4's will be setup active for the tweets and mids. I'm saving up for a SAZ-3000D to run the Nightshades. Once everything is built I'll look at Headunits, but right now I'm leaning towards the Kenwood DDX812. I'm going to setup either headrest LCD's or a flipdown for the rear seat so the kids can watch DVD's in the car. Electrical... Big 3 will be done with 1/0 guage cable. A Mechman 250a alternator will replace the stock alt. Stock battery will be replaced by Kinetic HC1800 (fits perfectly) and at least 2 HC2400s in the trunk with at least 2 runs of 1/0 gauge power cable. At least that is what I have in my head at this time and is always subject to change
  18. These came in on Monday from the presale. I finally got around to taking some pictures. My Nightshades just came in today. Look what the cat just dragged in.... Yikes those boxes are big !!! Nice !!! Man that thing is tall !!! Whats that, copper? With a big ass to boot !!!
