i talked him outta downfiring and i have James working on a box for him now. thanks for all the help though.

you dont think that would sound bad? i would think in a jeep you woulndt want the subs or the port firing at the bastseat.

well this setup is for my friends jeep cherokee. he wants to be able to put stuff on top of his box, since most likely he will loose alot of space in his truck. i told him that it didnt sound like a great idea because what ever he puts on top of his box is gonna get beat to hell plus his likely to hear it bouncing around on the box. but he is my friend and you cant tell him anything. he always asks me for ideas and help and somehow he always ends up at the flea market looking for gear no matter what i tell him. he always finds a cheap way out of my advice. i say buy some Knuconceptz he goes and saves .10 and buys welding wire, i say dont buy Power Acoustik....he goes and buys power acoustic, i say if you wanna get loud dont wast money on $50 sonys....he buys sonys. and so on and so on and so on. back to the box though. he wants a downfire but he doesnt really want it right down on the floor. his first idea was he was gonna put the box across the wheel humps in the back of the truck, i told him that doesnt sound safe and it will proly not sound good. my suggestion to him was if thats the way he wanted his box then build the box and add some sides to it that go like 8or so inches past the bottom edge of the box to raise it up. my only concern is do we still port the box or as thehoe92 said the space is the port? i still think he should just put the subs up and just port back but i am trying to get some ideas for everyone here first. thanks for all the help everyone.

my buddy that bought my 3 12's wants to put them in his jeep and have them downfiring he wants to raise the box up on both sides so that the top of the box meets the top of his backseats, not sure of dimensions yet. anyway it will be 2 12's dowfiring and ported. where do you suggest we put the port? will the subs downfiring make a difference?

well i thought i would let everyone know of my experience with NofearX18. He had some batteries for sale but was also looking for a 4 channel. i was looking for some batteries and i had an extra 4 channel amp. we came to an agreement that we would just trade each other straight up, he would pay my shipping and i would pay his. well he told me he was gonna ship the batteries out to me last Friday and he did, i got them Monday. i shipped him my amp saturday and hopefully he gets it by tomorrow. but you cant go wrong with some good old fashion trust. he didnt know me but he shipped me the batteries with just my word that he would get the amp. im glad everything worked out well so far and i can say that he seems to be a stand up guy and if anybody was to ever do some buisness with him im here to let you know it should go smoothly. thanks for the batteries and i hope you get your amp tomorrow.

well my buddy picked up a Power Acoustic Stax 4000D for $150 from some guy at the flea market so hes no longer in need of an amp. the site says it will do 2200W @ 1ohm. what do you guys think, is it really puttin out that much power. i call b/s cause first off they say its a 4000w amp but then spec it out at only 2200 W. anyway thats the deal

anybody else care to chime in on the Audiopipe? im sure he weould jump on that deal if it does rated power.

my buddy bought my 3 RF HX2 12's from me. well he needs an amp now. he is working with $350 in his budget. can anyone recomend a decent amp that will push these subs? they are dual 4 ohm subs and were going to wire them series/parallel. something that does 1500rms is what were looking for in that price range.

well my electrical consists of a stock 130 and a OG 240 alts, big 3 done in Knukonceptz fleks 1/0. one run of 1/0 to the rear and the amps grounded in 1/0. i have two HC800's on the way now, that will be added soon. what else do i need to do to my electrical? the RF's are very power hungry and it doens take much for them to get how but they perform well. i am maily concerned about the power that will be going to my subs. i can buy the sundown and keep my RF's but i dont wanna spend $500 on a new amp thats not going to do as well as my current ones.

any updates here? pricing?

i have one amp per sub at 2ohms each so with the saz i will be running both subs and i can get down to 1ohm with them . Sundown it is, i love my Rockfords i have gotten many years out of these amps with no fault no matter what i threw at them they never failed me. but i wanted to try something different and new and here is my chance. i have $390 saved up so far so i got some hustlin to do. i just detailed a bike tonight so it can be in a show tomorrow and i have another to do sunday plus ill prolly go pick up one of my customers escalade so i should have the money by monday...woot!!!

i have two RF 800a2 but i was wanting to goto one amp but i dont want to loose power. the RF's are rated at 800x1@4ohms i have them wired to 2ohms so im not sure how much power i am getting. the get warm but have not gone into protect on me once. i dont wat to take a step backwards.... what do you think would be the better option in terms of power at 2ohms?

i strongly second this, you WILL spend more than you make in the first 2-4 years. building up many things that will make you buisness sucessful in the future. you will fail very very fast if you let this get to you. if you are in debt and you have a family to provide for then this will be a very scary thng to do, trust me i own a buisness and have yet to make it a full time thing because what happens if i dont make it, what happens isf i cant pay rent, what happens if something happens to my wife or my kids or me. when you work for yourself insurance aint so cheap, i know people that pay over $1500 a month for him and his wife. there are so many factors here its hard to get into. dont get me wrong do what you love or else whats the point. maybe try to work a few more years to pay off your debts then when you dont have them you will have more peace of mind when you decide to spend/invest your money. we all love our vehicles and our systems but maybe now isnt the right time to go all out. you might have some money in your pocket but should you buy that nice new Sundown amp or should you pay down some debt. what will help you in the long run. do you know any of the people that owned the stereo shops that have opend and closed? if so find out what happened, i mean some people just dont have it, some people get in over there head, some people cant handle the time it takes to start a buisness. you will find that all your time will be put into your buisness if you are really truly into it. it will cause issues at home, make sure the people in your life are there for you, you cant do it by yourself. on the loan note, if your married maybe it should be your wifes buisness, women and minorities get loans way easier than a white guy. point blank. also banks are scared as hell right now i dont know the situation in Canada but here, they are pulling loans from people left and right. i am in the lumber/hardware industry so i have seen many many people go out of buisness. the economy is separating "the men from the boys" the guys that know what they are doing and the guys that try to make you think they know what they are doing. i know some great builders that have had there loans pulled after they started building, banks wont risk it and the way things are going now failure right around the corner for a ton of buisnesses. go pay for buisness license, print out fliers and get some cards, Vista print is very reasonable and they have tons of options, get your name out there get your car lettered show off your system or others that you have done. shops dont make money off of big SPL setups, they make it off installing prefab boxes and alarms. my shops around here are fuckin gay as hell, they were impressed, like really impressed with my 1/0 wire. they guy was trying to sell me some 4 ga untill i showed my Knukoncepts. start off small and advertise. dont spend a fortune on advertising but like i said get some cards and get your car lettered or your boys cars lettered. fliers, more or less a lost cause you could make 2000 and not get a call. been there done that. i know im all over the place but sit down and get a game plane together, look at you income now and your outgoing money. pay down some debt, save some. everytime you are about to buy a videogame or something you really dont need take that money and put it into your buisness or into a savings account for your future buisness. there is no such thing as getting rich quick or we would all be rich. keep you head up and dont let my rant get you down, i could go on for days about this. another thing to remember is that anyork you do, you are responsible for. it bothers me that you think your a loser. i dont know you but im sure your not a loser, everyone has hard times. keep your head up and dont let some little shit get you down. i am your age and i have a shit load of problems, i have a ton of debt, i have a wife and 3 kids to take care of and its scary and sometimes i get depressed but i always think that my time will come, im puttin in work everyday so my kids and my wife get what they want and dont go without. i mean i been trying to come up with some money to buy me a new amp and i dont have it yet but i know i spent enoght money on my kids and my wife that i could have bought 2 amps, but like i said my day will come and so will yours, your not a loser, just another dude trying to get by itll balance out in the end. again i know i been all over the place with this but i hope you got something from it. if you have any questions you can PM. you sound like a dude that wants something out of life, keep at it and you will succeed.

vending is a great hustle. there is a guy that lives near one of me friends and he has one in his driveway, mind you he just lives in a residential are and not near any buisnesses, he make mad money from just people who walk by and my buddy. think if you put those things at your work or at one of your friends jobs, a car wash, a local grocer. you could be refilling that thing everday or two. i worked for a place called Vendor Supply here in VA and we pulled mad orders for small vending companies and they were getting like 3-4 pallets EVERYDAY. $175 is a steal, infact more like armed robbery. jump on that and watch some extra car audio/video/rims/tires and paint money come in...... i mean bill paying/childrens clothing and wife stuff money come it.

i dont see why liquid nail wouldnt work. but just like some silicone, no way. my dad got this box made of plexi, they use it for people to put money in a bike shows for BACA(bikers against child abuse)and who ever made it used clear silicone.....well saturday after a show he put it on the couch and it just fell apart... i mean it just colapsed, i would love to see what an MDF box would do .

thats what im saying... pioneer head units got me into loving my stereo....untill i got an Eclipse.. but if i strayed away from Eclipse i would deff go back to Pioneer.
