I think this thread was handy because i think many dont know the difference and tuning capabilities.

sounds like once i can ill get the components for front and back because it looks like im walling it off anyways.

i would most likely put them close together and if coaxials were muddy and weak sounding then why would companys be still producing them?

So the only real benefit is the positioning of the speaker and tweeter? edit- so i could get all the highs to the tweeter and i noticed with just a 6.5 alot of highs still go through it what would be the optimum setting for that i know every application is different but still wondering. I think in the long run the hassle of components are worth it. Im just afraid i wont be able to hear the mid bass anyways?

I was planning on sooner or later switching my stock speakers and many people on here and a person in my home town are using components. That friends car has the most clear sound quality i think you can get but whats the difference between those and coaxials? I know the basics about both speakers one has a tweeter in the woofer and one has the mid bass usually 6.5 and a seperate tweeter with a crossover. I was planning on the t3 coaxials or components and both are 100rms and i plan on the dc 120.4 or sundown 100.4. Once this topic is done id like it to be stickied so others know the benefits of both.

Any tips to get better numbers for the sound comp coming next month? Im thinking of making a false floor and have to make a battery tray and amp rack yet. I also would like to seal off the front from the trunk area with a wall.

Me and a friend installed a btl 18 in each of our cars this weekend his is in a jeep grand cherokee limited and mines in a 2 door cavalier. His System remember only 600rms at most Mine is about 2000wrms We both have the same box its 5.5cubes tuned to 35hz. I must admite his system is awesome only off a alpine 1000watt amp at 4ohm so we figure 500-600rms. mine was thrown together literally at 4am the night i bought it and put on the back seat for times sake. Comments and tips are much appreciated.
