OK I have done the Xclamp mod, towel, and heatgun. I still have the RROD. It wouldnt over heat on its own even in towels, and when i forced it to overheat with a heatgun still no luck. My question is any of you have had the rrod and your fans not spin up? I just now noticed that my fans arent(never did) spinning at all while the red lights flash, it like tries to when I push the power button but immediately stops in a split sec, doesnt even make 1 revolution. any help would be appreciated.

They are Neutriks. The cheaper Neutriks ends slip off, they dont have the bite like these do. What I really love about these neutriks is the strain relief they use.

meade, you can tell, I am sure. You have trained ears. Best thing to do is listen to Dire Straits or something that has good overall tonal balance, not rap. Listen for the cymbals crashing. Those higher frequencies degrade heavily on compressed tracks.

I posted a thread earlier on a cd i bought, a lot of the store bought CDs are terrible. I just bought that new Fray album. It had an averaged -3 - -6 db throughout the song. it was very "loud" and lacked complete dynamics. After a few minutes your ears get real fatigued too from listening to such a loud and flat song. this is "You found me" by The Fray straight from the CD, not ripped They are brick walled, pretty much nothing you can do, unless they remaster it and redistribute it. chevy, using my eclipse with ipod integration, I have same issue on the output of the volume of the ipod. My CDs let me go a lot louder than my ipod will. Only thing you can do is get more power to your speakers until you are satisfied.

You can definitely hear upgrading from 128. When did iTunes offer 128 to begin? They always, from when i remember, had 160kbps vbr. I know apple eliminated DRM on their songs. just buy your CDs like a normal person

your IP changes from your mobile whenever you drop your data connection, invision, forum system, doesnt allow multiple IPs to stay logged in at the same time. if thats not the case, could be a safari issue

What is your question? not sure what are you looking to get help with, its going to be very tough to give any sort of tuning help about EQ over the net. Is there something real specific you need help fixing? your linearity seems fine, how about tonal accuracy, how does it sound to you?
