i recommend to test your amp... if u got a spare or have a friend with an amp... test your subs on a different amp with approx. the same power and see if it still sounds bad when you turn it up.... what equipment are you using?

i would recommend figuring out how much your alt is pushing out 1st...if your only pushing 1000w then i would recomnd the batt... upgrading an alt is very costly and can have complications.... ive seen it first hand... ive talked to guys who are pushing 3200w and charging 3 batteries on a stock alt... if your altima isnt your daily driver And you have a lot of money to speed then go ahead for the alt...

i dont think it will do much damage as long as your not pushing it all way...

i agree with EricM9104... double check your wiring... on the subs... i had the same problem with a 2 10in setup...

what equipment are you running? subs, amp, dimentions of box... we need some more info man...

thanks for the reply guys... yes i may be upgrading to 2 18in level 4xl DC 18 eventually after i get an alt. but trying to pay for college and being the loudest on island is difficult to balance out. Ive been looking into sundown and DAT, however i dont know where to find them. Could someone point me in the right direction?? thanks...

hmmm.. thats a good question... currently i only have the budget to go up to 200 including shipping but im willing to go 350$ if im convinced that the amp is worth it... thanks for your help

hey everybody... i am looking for an amp that has at least 1000w RMS @ 1 ohm for my DC level 4 18in woofer. Im debating whether i should get the crunch ground pounder series or the powerzone series. price is about the same for both. what are your opinions about crunch? what other amplifiers would you guys recommend?
