I found out that you should experiment with the direction of subs, and see what one works best for you. When I had mine in the trunk, firing upwards was the loudest, but it varies from car to car IIRC.

I did mine with Color Place paint from Walmart, only $1 a can. Sand them down first, do 2 coats, then clear coat it.
