Ya, I have a feeling something else was going, not because of the amps being strapped.

Exactly what I thought.

I was at a show this weekend and was gonna meet up with a friend up there. When I got there, my friend and his friend were working in the trunk of his car on his amps. I asked what was wrong and he said that his amps were clipping, so he was unstrapping them. Then he said that the Sundown amps perform better unstrapped. He had them strapped at one ohm, and unstrapped at .5 each and said they do better unstrapped...I'm not too sure on his electrical by the way. So my question is, is what I was told true? Thanks.

Where in Florida are you. Were you at the show in Seffner today. I love my lows. 2 SAZ-3000d's .5 ohms each, or one ohm strapped if I keep them strapped. Was the clam louder to the ear, or just on the meter. I'm not really looking to compete too much, just a good demo vehicle. It will be tuned between 30 and 32 hz.

Why do you say such things.

Well, I'm adding 2 more DP21"s to my Expedition in a month or two. I was planning on doing a clam wall at the B-pillars. But I also started thinking doing a diamond type enclosure would be pretty sweet too. So I'm looking for some opinions on what you think would be louder, first and foremost, and look better. Which ever design I go with will be at the B-pillars, between 35 and 40 cubes, tuned to 32hz. Please explain why you voted the way you did. I have never done either of these designs, so any tips are also appreciated. The subs.

An spl box is more of a one note wonder. It won't do well on the lows.

If it's going to be a true spl box, odds are that it wont sound great on music for daily.

Test and tune, then test and tune some more. Experiment with different designs and what not. looking at the specs on the website for the subs is a start. In a high power application, you may go a little smaller than recommended.

In the right box and power, two should be louder. And bigger boxes are more efficient, thus they can be loud off of less power. But with too much power, the subs will exceed their mechanical power handling limits. A smaller box increases the subs mechanical power handling, so you can throw more power at them.

Spl boxes are usually relatively small compared to daily boxes as to put more power to the subs. At least that is what I have gathered form a few places. They're tuned pretty high as well compared to daily.

Ya, same here. Does your Ipod hook into your hu through the headphone jack in the Ipod, or the usb. Mine uses the usb and goes into the back of my hu.

I'm thinking it's an advance in technology. My video is the newest version, but the nano is the next to newest...But then again, a couple years ago my friend put his 30 gig video in and it was a lot louder than the nano I had at the time. They were of the same gen...I'm going to have to go with this until further info comes up
