  1. just because this box doesnt have 45's doesnt mean it doesnt need them
  2. it looks like theres somethin at the bottom of the port. maybe a one way gasket letting air out but not in, thus the second port
  3. youll love the sub. Its been great for me. If you wanna have fun with it tune it around 25 and play some chopped and screwed stuff. It wont meter as high that way though. edit: I usually have mine ported, but it working on fitting both of them in my trunk ported. so i just sealed then up for now
  4. I started running my Sundown 3000 at .5 ohms a little over a week ago, and I figured I'd share my experience with performance in regards to temp of the amp. Subs: 2 dual 2 ohm audiopulse axis wired down to .5 Electrical: 200 amp alt, one kinetik 1800 under the hood and one kinetik 1800 in the trunk. Sealed box, 2 cubes per sub, impedence rises over 1 ohm at 18 hz and doesnt drop below 1.1 ohms after that. Gains on the amp are set with 50volume on the deck as max Before started I took the temp of the amp it was 62 F I started playin music on volume 40 for 8 minutes, then I turned it up to 50 for 13 minutes. Total test time 21 mins. I measured the temp of the amp again: The side with the power wired was 78.4 F, the side with the rcas was 87.8 F The A/C wasnt on, outside temp was about 55 F, amp is mounted on a board with nothing above it. Songs played during the test were: Chain hang low Paper Planes Remix This is why Im hot Lollipop Remix Watch my shoes 3 Peat The subs cone temp were both around 76 F With this said, I feel comfortable running my Sundown 3000 and .5 ohms daily.
  5. look for a mono amp. it will have a sub sonic filter
  6. I wouldnt use that design. 14.5sq in of port. with 2.6 cubes. just by that there is only 5.5 sq in of port per cube of box. a good port area to box volume is 12-16 sq in per cube.
  7. that was a sealed box right. ported will be different, maybe with a lower tuning too. like 35 btw 2 tens it the same cone area as one 15
  8. even still that doesnt mean you can rule out a sub sonic filter. If your high pass filter goes down to the 30hz range you can use that filter. do you have the specs for this ported box? side note. your missin out on lots of fun if you never listen to under 37 hz. i love playin with tones between 22 and 35 hz
  9. it probably doesnt. just because the sub freq range is 31- watever hz doesnt mean it can play below that. its just the usable range. its also hard to find out what frequency is the lowest you listen to
  10. no.. its that way for all ported boxes. im not sure i would trust a design from someone that doesnt know the simplest stuff of boxes
  11. yes it does... You will have less control under the tuning of the box which can cause bottoming out. So adjust you sub sonic filter to compensate for that. Im not sure on the rule of thumb for tuning and ssf adjustment, but if it were mine id put it around 35 hz
  12. great seller. shipped tuesday, got it friday. Great job on packing. Ive ordered plexi from ebay stores with just plexi stuck in a box. My sundown plexi was wrapped and wrapped and wrapped some more with that foam paper stuff it looks nice too.
  13. heres the sundown i got. looks nice. itll look even better with a blue backlight
  14. I got my sundown one a few days ago. it looks great. Im interested in the alpine now. Is there a way to cut the height down
  15. My boss tweeter is the reason i havent had a tweeter in my car for about 2 years
  16. I had a Boss super tweeter like that. real heavy 500watt max rating.haha but it did hurt to listen too. if kinda felt like someone was bangin some cymbols in my ear. they are fun to play with though. I put mine in my trunk and had ppl look in the back when i had my subs playin. then i switched over to a high pitch tone...pissed them off real good.haha
  17. try to make money before destruction, but if you want destruction..take vids
  18. to add more to that. the lower power wont hurt the speakers. but turning up every settin on the deck, and the volume knob up all the way to get louder will cause a big clipped signal to get thrown at the speakers and cause over heating up to thermal failure
  19. youve only got 4 speakers and 2 channels. you can either series them to get and 8 ohm load and decrease power output. or parallel with minimal power increase and a possible blown h/u next week. i would stick with just one pair and leave it. what is bein powered by the other 2 channels of the h/u
  20. my bad i typed wrong. i meant arent Fixed
