  1. I dont take any offense, just going off the specs. i know it was night and day compared to the crunch 1500.1 that was on those RE's.
  2. Im going to be running 2 Power Acoustik Stax 4000/1 amps in my truck. 2200 watts rms @ 1 ohm & you can get them online for only $209.99. I hooked it to 2 15" RE subs and it really suprised me how much power it had.
  3. I would think you couldnt mix them be they would play at different frequencies and bc they have different characteristics that would cause them to sound like they are playing against each other. Idk, this is just what iv understood to be the reason you cant mix sizes.
  4. You can ground the amp pretty much anywhere. you just have to make sure that you mount it to bare metal. the ground wont be sufficient if its not.
  5. sweet, a NEON! I see some serious work and effort going into this. gonna be intresting.
  6. Yeah it was RMS and I think your talking about subs in this diagram, hes talking about running a pile of mids and highs.
  7. It def sounds like your remote wire isnt functioning right. thats about all that could be wrong from what you describe.
  8. Yeah, and when you add more speakers you reduce the wattage to each right? bc i fought this for a while but i was told a 1200 watt amp will push a sub at 1200 watts, 1 ohm. but 2 4ohm dvc at 1 ohm would only get 600 watts each.
  9. I dont know whats the best one but from the guys iv seen in town the soundstream processors and the bass mekanik from RE are all I see. Im personally really looking forward the the Soundstream XBP-10 bc you can switch it from spl to sq with the push of a button. Thats a feauture i want though, so my decision is biased lol.
  10. Well i thought the same thing bc they are the same. They said from using it all the time to turn the bass up and down is what burns it out. I dont think its true, just never actually known.
  11. im sure ill jack this up but ill try anyway. a potentiometer is a device that controls an electrical output. i think thats an ok definition. all i know is, they said bass knobs can jack your amps. however, im going to run one bc i dont know for sure and they cant really prove it, could just be coincidences that they have had.
  12. wait, i have a bx-10...and your right! i cant wait to get rid of the thing. im getting the bx-20z or the xbp-10.
  13. Idk if its true but one of the guys at the audio shop in town said that running a bass knob can burn out the potentiometer in the amp and make it burn up. is there any truth to that?
  14. the waiting does suck. iv been waiting to hear my new system for a month and im going crazy in the mean time with no bass. Its looking good though, as long as you dont mind some finishing work your cuts dont have to be exact.
  15. Shizzam! That looks very nice. I like the 6x9 panel you made as well. I need to do something similar to get some rear speakers bc as of now I have only doors and dash Build looks very nice though.
