  1. When you have the sketch you want up in google sketch up, press the print screen button on your keyboard then go to paint and paste it there then modify how you want it to look.
  2. You shoulda unhooked the ground the battery first before you started hooking up the positive wire.
  3. What about if i do 4.5"W x 27.75"H? Its about 124.8 sq inches of port.
  4. Ok cool. And 1 box will be easier for me to build also. My subs should be here friday so ill start a build log hopefully this weekend.
  5. Since im running 2 amps, should i build 2 boxes and put 2 15s and 1 amp for each box or build the one i drew up?
  6. Heres a pic of the box im doing. The square box in the middle is going to be a cut out and have q power in plexiglass with a led behind it. Its not the best drawing but im still learning on sketch up.
  7. Ol, ill post a pic up tonite with it colored and everything. Well im sure your program is better and i want it around 33Hz so ill use the same measurements i had for the re calc. Is 125 sq inches enough port for 4000 watts and 8 cubes or do i need more or less?
  8. Well im getting 4 q power 15s and 2 sundown saz 2000s for my next build. This will be a wall in my ford ranger. I have a box design. Tell me if it sounds good and if it dont, give me some ideas. I know yall are gona say i need a bigger box, but these 15s only need 2 cubes per sub. I called q power and asked them. I used REs calculator for this and my outside dimesnions are: 44"W x 35"H x 14.5"D with a port that is 3.75"W x 33.5"H x 26"L. This comes out to be 8.7 cubes after port displacement. After sub displacement and bracing, the box will be around 8 cubes with 125 sq inches of port tuned to around 34-35Hz. Does this sound like a good box for 4000 watts? The subs will be on the passenger side and the port on the drivers side. I know how to use google sketchup, i just dont know how to save it so i can get a link and post it here.
  9. if yall had some 2000s on sale, i'd sweep of 2 of them. I'm getting ready to get 2 saz 2000s to go with my 4 15s in about 2-3 weeks or so.
  10. I done a 7 cubic ft wall in my ranger for these 2 15s and they are louder in my current box that is 2.5 cubic ft per chamber. I looked up the specs of these subs, and cerwin vega says 2 cubes for each. I did a 141 with a wall and a 144.9 with a 6 cubic ft box and i havent metered my current box but it moves more air than the past 2 boxes.
  11. Your right, it never hurts to try. I think ill build the ported box first, and if i dont like it, then ill go with a sealed setup. I got some cool ideas runnin thru my head for looks of the box. Hopefully it will include plexiglass and leds.
  12. I would do that, but im not too big on sealed boxes. To me, it just doesnt feel like its loud when there isnt lots of air moving.
  13. I like some mids and highs notes but i love hella lows with lots of air moving.
  14. Well i refigured my box, and its 4.1 cubic ft with 65 sq inches of port tuned to 32Hz. Im hoping this will drop the lows my buddy has 2 10s tuned to 33 Hz and i want mine a tad lower and my box now is tuned at 37Hz. I should be starting on it either this weekend or next week. Ill post a build log. This will be my last system for a while.
  15. I have 2 cerwin vega vmax 15s. Which numbers in the specs can i look at to see if this sub is good for lows? Do i look at the Fs or what? and i plan on doing a 4 cubic ft box for them because they only require 2 cubes for each. Is it better to go with a bigger port for the lows? I was planning on doing 4.1 cubic ft with 65 sq inches of port tuned to 33.5 Hz.
  16. Im pretty set on the hoss rims also. Not many people in sanford have them. As for the lift, i have a 5" lift with 33s and have room to clear 35s. I want mud grapplers because they look awesome. I have mickey thompson mtzs now but i want an aggressive tire because they look better with big rims. Anybody got any tire ideas besides the grapplers?
  17. I use 2" wood screws for the box and pre drill the holes. For the sub, i use 1 1/4" wood screws.
  18. Well i couldnt find the right bolt pattern for my truck in any of the above rims, so i found some more. KMC XD Rockstars XD rockstar KMC XD Hoss XD Hoss Which do yall think?
  19. Im Jared from Sanford, NC. I found this site by youtube and just surfing the internet. Im liftedranger08 on here and a few wedsites and rinconmanof90 on some websites. This site is awesome.
  20. Yea im gona move it around and see which way its louder and even put sub forward and see if its louder. My only concern is that i have port noise.
  21. Yea, its a toss up between the first and second. Ill have to look and see if they both make a rim with my bolt pattern then i will prolly get the cheapest to save on money.
  22. Ill let yall no later tonite how it sounds turned up and with this box, i think i can turn the amp a little more but i really need a o-scope to tune it.
  23. Well i got my box in. I didnt get to turn it all the way up because my little cousin was in the house asleep. It sounded good for what i could turn it up. Heres some pics. Heres my temporary amp rack and batteries Heres the false floor the box sits on A view from the drivers side A view from the passengers side With the sub in. Ill get a video as soon as i can. What do yall think? I no the box looks kinda rough but i used wood from an old box but its sealed good and im gona put carpet over it anyway.
