  1. I don't know if you posted any pictures or not because I'm at school, but if you didn't could you post some pictures of the box, I have a Tiburon and I'm trying to decide on how to do a box.
  2. I decided on a single 15" Q in a ported enclosure paired with an SAZ-1000D, my problem is I have no idea where to even begin figuring out how to build a ported enclosure. I keep messing with the box calculators and what not but all the port stuff confuses me. Can someone help me out with a design?
  3. Sorry to be a nub but what is clipping? How can you hear it?
  4. Well I'm kind of OCD about things being symmetrical hence the two 12's, would a single 15 be better? And I'm really concerned with what kind of electrical upgrades I'd have to do to run two of these?
  5. So I've been doing a lot of reading and looking around and now I'm kind of geared towards one or two Fi Q 12"s. If I go with two I was looking at the Audioque 2200D, but I haven't really looked for an amp if I only go with one, so I'm kind of set on two but I'm worried about it being too loud. What kind of electrical upgrades would I have to do for two of them? Now I was thinking of building my box, I'm debating between ported or sealed, haven't really decided which one I want to go with yet. My max trunk space is 36" wide, 15" high. I can go kind of deep, can't remember the exact measurement right now but how deep would I have to go for a box with that width and height? Does this seem good for a hatchback (2003 Hyundai Tiburon)? That's why I'm mainly worried about two 12's being too loud. should I go with two 10" subs? I mainly listen to rock and some rap, should I go with a ported or sealed box? I have a Pioneer DEH-P4900iB head unit. Well, I just went and took pictures and measurements of the box space and everything so you guys can see what I'm talking about Hopefully that’s all you need, the little hump at the back that goes up the back of the seats takes up a couple of inches, so I started the tape measure at the bottom of the hump, measurements came out at 36" x 17" x 30" (W x H x D). It can't go the full 30" deep and be 17" high though cause at the back of the car the hatch will hit it so it would have to be slanted.

  7. I could but I would rather not so that way it is covered up in parking lots and what not.

  9. Does the Fi BL have good SQ as well as being decently loud? And why does the BL page not load on ficaraudio.com????????? To be clear I'm looking for SQ, I don't want to listen to just thumping from an SPL setup however I do want to be able to hear my SQ, if that makes any sense.
  10. I looked at the DC audio stuff and I'm really looking for SQ. I want it loud, but I want it to have quality as this is for my daily driver and I'm 99.9% sure that I will never go to a competition of any sort. I was trying to look at the Fi BL's but when I go to www.ficaraudio.com then click on speakers and then BL I just get a blank page. The page for the BTL's and the other ones all work, just not the BL's???? I plan to sound deaden, I was thinking of using Hushmat if I could get it on eBay but the only Hushmat I seen on eBay was a thing of 690SQ ft and I don't think I'll need anywhere near that much for a Hyundai Tiburon, plus it was $250. My budget I guess would be around $200-300 on subs and $200-300 on an amp. I was going to try and build my own box, my dad has a lot of tools so that should not be much of a problem. I was planning on running Rockford 0 or 1 gauge wire to the amp just so I have good wire run incase three years from now I decide to do a major upgrade. I guess this information would have been helpful to post in the first place. So, I'm looking for loud but SQ, suggestions on a good place to get Hushmat or another decent sound deadening material. I've heard of getting Dynamat off eBay but I think your mostly paying for the name when it comes to that, if I'm wrong please tell me. Budget of $200-300 for subs and the same for the amp. Any suggestions on box building, I believe I need sealed for best SQ and that seems a lot easier to build than a ported enclosure. As for the budget, I guess it could go a little higher, I don't really want it to but it wouldn't kill me. If you need any other information let me know and thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
  11. I'm in high school with only a part-time job so I can't be buying the best of the best like a lot of you guys are but this is what I have come up with, I was thinking of getting two 12" Alpine Type - R 4ohm DVC wired down to 1-ohm at the amp. I was recommended a Hifonics BXi2010D amp that puts out 2000RMS @ 1-ohm. Now that would put 1000RMS to each sub when their rated for 500RMS, so would the BXi1210D be better at 1200RMS @ 1-ohm giving each sub 600RMS? Should I get a different amp than Hifonics altogether? I mainly listen to rock and some rap, should I go with a ported or sealed box? Where's the best place to get one for the Type - R? How hard would it be to build my own? Also I drive a hatchback (2003 Hyundai Tiburon) so would two 12" subs be too much, should I go with two 10" subs? Should I go with something besides the Alpine's that are close in price? I have a Pioneer DEH-P4900iB head unit. Please excuse the noobness and thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
