I had placed my pair of 1500Ds on 1 sub (i have the level 5 D1 coils in them) and the single sub got scary loud! i didn't play it long though..

i only use those boxes / subs for SPL use.. they are really too much for daily use for me..

i lowered the tuning freq to about 40Hz (net volume dropped to 4.1cu.ft) and just hit a 151.6 on the Audio Control meter this evening.. i believe another 0.5dB is possible with these boxes.. question, what's the best score you guys have seen made with around ~3200Wrms.. my personal goal is 152dB but i not sure if that is high or low for my power..

hit it with some higher bass and more powa!

smaller port = increased air velocity (might help when trying to pull off a hair trick) 2 L4 15"s in a Cherokee might not be enough to pull a proper hair trick.. you'll need a wall if you are really looking for one imo.. because of the flared ends, aero's tend to flow more air.. and they help to reduce port noise as well, so you can get away with using less port area with aero's..

thanks guys.. they were tuned about 45-47Hz when i made that score.. it was a rush job, completed minutes before the competition.. so far i dropped the tuning a bit and gained 0.7dBs.. they have just over 4cu.ft net in each.. vehicle is a 1998 Suzuki Grand Vitara..

My old SPL setup consisted of 2 Audiopipe 15" subs powered by a pair of Sundown Audio SAZ1500Ds.. best score with that combo was 151.6dB on the Audiocontrol meter.. i eventually damaged one of the subs, note how they are moving in this vid.. my daily box.. a Pioneer 5000SPL in a 2.4cu.ft enclosure tuned 36Hz, front stage is a pair of CDT components powered by a RF Punch amp i just bought a pair of DC Level 4's, i'll post some vids of those soon..

Hi guys, i'm new to the forum and i'm from Trinidad in the West Indies.. I just recently bought a pair of Level 4 subs and have to say they are great performers! Some real low frequency monsters.. I'm mainly using them for IASCA SPL competitions powered by a pair of Sundown Audio SAZ1500Ds and my current boxes.. i didn't get any time to prepare, but made 150.1dBs in my 1st competition with them..
