  1. thanks guys! port area is 46.75sq.in or approx 15sq.in per cubic foot.. this is what it should look like when completed.. i'm still not sure what material to use to cover the face.. note that my grill is both functional as well as cosmetic
  2. 4 10"s - 314sq.in 2 12"s - 226sq.in 3 12"s - 339sq.in 2 15"s - 353sq.in looking at cone area, 2 12"s is at a disadvantage..
  3. what i want to know is, how are you going to lift to mount it in so high up! that subs weights a ton!
  4. i like the idea of 10" Level 5s.. thorshammer could always use some more competition.. 2 12"s in the right box can outperform 2 15"s in a poorly designed box, and since you will have the space to build a proper box for 12"s, that seems like a good way to go.. of course, wood is cheaper than subs, so you could try rebuilding your current enclosure 1st..
  5. i used Turpan Ultra Light mdf for this build.. it isn't the strongest but extremely light (helps me save on fuel costs).. surprisingly, the box hardly flexes with those braces, my deck remote moves around when placed on the top of the box, but it won't hop into the air..
  6. Concept box is 3.2cu.ft tuned 34Hz i cut and used a piece of 6" high density PVC to smoothen the air flow through the port 1.25" dowels for bracing the next step from here is to make a face plate for it to cover the face with a black cloth.. i was thinking to get the DC logo spray painted onto the black cloth in red.. should look awesome when finished..
  7. i prefer the JL formula.. someone had posted a spreadsheet with the formula equation inserted into it.. it's pretty accurate imo.. other than that, it's WinISD..
  8. i got the Level 5 D1 coils in my Level 4 15"s.. they pound!
