i already reinstalled vista, it was still going slow and it crashed on me so i said fuck it and reinstalled it, its workin like new now lol

im backing up my good files to prep for reinstall, im worried that i have a virus thats adding files to my computer

oh, one more thing, it it normal for your computer to misread hard drive space, because mine said 127 gbs free thismorning, then it went to 125gb free then now its at 119gbs free, and i didnt download, or install anything Update: now its at 118gb free

but anyway, if i reinstall vista will it be as fast as when i bought it?

my computer has another problem that appeared today, the internet connection keeps fucking up, im using a cord to my d-link and the other computers connected to it have no internet problems...

i have my startup programs down to what i need, got 3gbs of ram, and a 2.0GHz processor, does windows defender slow it down that much?, becaause that is what im using to protect my computer, i had a free trial of windows live onecare but it expired like a week ago and i had to switch back to windows defender

i only have been using my gateway laptop since christmas, and its going quite slow, no viruses or anything, so im thinking of putting my good files on an external hard drive and reinstalling vista, any other options, or ideas?
