  1. thats a good install, mind saying what the budget was?
  2. It would depend on the final ohm load and how imp rise to be honest. DCexplorer can attest to what Im about to say...6-10s on 333watts (clamped real world power) slams very very loudly and thats plenty for daily. I have 6 sonance 10s (2.5 inch coils) and they are by all means way louder then his (dcexplorers) DC audio 18 on a saz3000d....nuff said
  3. track 5 on kings of crunk (lil jon) album.
  4. Wired at 1.3ohms on the amp...YOU WILL NOT see ANYWHERE near that 450watts per woofer.....after box rise/imp rise your going to be over 2ohm probably closer to 4ohm in all honesty. Get a DMM and AC clamp and get actual power, before you tell people this amp is rated at 3000watts...that doesnt mean the amp does that power....
  5. Meade I know this is way old, but it never got an update...I was just curious if the yellow top is still under the hood? I thought you would have replaced that awhile back with somthing like a smaller 1700stinger/odessey, or all power master? GREAT damn job though, I never get tired of looking at this!!
  6. should be fun man, I will probably be helping steve out on the show.
  7. When did I say it was? If you have the gain low and crank the volume, you are going to get a clipped signal and distortion like a b!tch. If you turn the gain up all the way and turn your volume you, it wont be long till somthing is smoked...hints why you set the volume then the gain to safely play where you like it etc.....so what was your post supposed to show? As far as where you should cross them will depend on your setup, go with what sounds best to you after all its your ride your the one mainly listening to it.
  8. Kenwood DDX 7017 It has tons of options sub out, bass, mid bass, treble etc...
  9. why not do 7 D3100s? 1 under the hood and 6 in the back. Plus the alt your gonna use, should do well.
  10. I will be there, not bringing anything loud, but I will be there. I live in sedalia also man!!
  11. I use my head unit
  12. I like that idea as well...2 subs up, 2 subs back, port to the back should wang hard...
  13. I want to say I high passed at 125hz because that seemed to be the sweet spot in my truck, I have 6.5 coax in my rear doors an they do great as well.
  14. off all the trash talk on the mb quarts who has tried them? I have the new (maxxonics owned) 6.5 comp sets in my front doors (1set per doors) and I have 1 set per door of the shallow mount 6.5 coax and they sound damn good and LOUD as hell off my old school fosgate amps!! I admit you have to play around with where to cross them and set the amps up, but thats normal. I can safely say they give me vocals an mid bass at 154db daily on music......
  15. Nice start...I like that stain alot...unique and looks sweet
  16. I went from FI BLs to HD3 woofers and I noticed it had a different sound totally. I ditched the FI BLs because they didnt handle the power well at lower Freqs they got hot ( No I didnt clip them) I had everything set up right. I changed the tuning from 34hz to 40hz and the hd3s were louder off the same power via termlab testing. Its up to the person you cant predict whats gonna work for you vs someone else. RD works best for me, its been the loudest in both my vehicles so thats what I run.
  17. The 95 yes if your not hard on them with clipping etc. The 35s some people would say yes, some say no..it would again depend on how clean the power is an at what freq your tuned at vs what your playing. The audioque HD3 is another option (alot like the 95series dd woofer) The RD Audio Hw will take the power as well. For daily I would say 6-12s would be freakin plenty!!
  18. 50watts rms should be fine, but its going to depend on how you set up your gains and how loud you actually turn it up. The quarts I have dont require alot of power to be honest, Im running a fosgate 400a4 to 2 pair of comp sets and its at 1/4 gain, I dont need anymore then that. If you want I can get the ac clamp and dmm out to get close to exact power they are seeing.
  19. Clipping the signal from the head unit to the amp is a concern as well, if your turning it up full tilt for long periods of times it causes whats called a clipped or dirty signal to the amp which causes the amp to heat up, clipping also causes your subs to heat up you can check that by touchin the dust caps they will be warm or hot depending how long and how bad your clipping it. Also somthing else to think about is the subsonic filters etc. If you have your box tuned at like say 36hz your gains not set properly and your trying to play below tuning it causes subs to get hot QUICK!
  20. the issue is this, you need to look for an line driver with mutiple pre outs to control your multitude of amps, eq with built in line driver is probably your best bet...I think the maxxlink would be a great choice, they can had for cheap, they control 5amps and they have tons of options on it for fine tuning.
  21. RD Audio Sonance is a good solid woofer!! An Loud off lil power
  22. uncommon most heard of it, but it does slam....off topic street who is in your avatar....
  23. nice little start man....phil collins joint bangs HARD in my truck!!
  24. steve, the hoe looks good. I was curious if the honda gets the same treatment though? I cant decide which one I like better the caddys or yours as far as interior...
  25. nice build meade, although for pure spl you still made it look good.
