  1. Good thread here. Helped my decide what to get for my truck finally. Hopefully I will get the quotes I need from Nathan and get my order placed.
  2. If im lucky and my amps come in I may make it to the next show and do my own 150
  3. What are you doing Ziggity lol. Your cracking me up man. That car hit hard for sure with only one 10"
  4. If things go right I should have 2 RD D5's soon. That will definitely put me over 3600watts. If I can keep my rise in check im hoping for 7000watts running the amps at .5ohm. The only thing concerning me is that the HDC3 15's need 4 - 4.5 cubes per sub and im really needing to put them into 3.5 t0 3.8 per sub. Guess I have some measuring to do.
  5. Thanks for the info nightshade. That helped a lot. I will loose the 4th run if I have to. Thanks for the tip about the height. Im probably 20" from the roof and I could use a little more room. Trying to fit 14-16 cubes back there and have room for batteries and amps is challenging. Fitting the 18's would be a lot easier than the 4 15's but I just like the idea of having the 4 15's...more is better lol. I have 2 layers of deadener on the roof and one layer on the interior and exterior door panels. The setup will all be 12v for now but later on I did plan on adding am MLA module to the system or one of the new XS power regulators.
  6. I need to get more info on NSPL. Not sure about the rules and requirements and which class I would end up in. I also dont want to install a bunch of stuff that would disqualify me from a class that I might otherwise be eligible for. Truck is a Silverado EX cab. I have 4 runs of 0gauge to the rear. One from the front + to the rear bank +. One from the front - to the rear bank -. The last 2 will be for + runs from the 2nd and 3rd alt to the rear batteries. From what I have been able to find out I can only have 3 rear batteries. Is that right? Can I have more batteries back there but only use 3 at a comp? Any restrictions about multiple alts? I will have 6000-8000 watts for my subs. Nothing is installed yet so I have no idea what the clamped power will wind up. Still deciding between 2 18" subs or 4 15" subs. Room will be tight for either back there. Trying to keep this all under the window line. I have most of my funds no so im itching to get the rest of my gear. I will be calling Dominic and DC power to see how much damage a triple alt setup will do to my funds. Want to get 2 new alts and run my stocker as the 3rd until I can afford a new matching alt. Still waiting to find out about my amps, considering upgrading and taking a hit for 2 D5's.
  7. I use these 2 calculators as well as Exos. The top calc I used to fix a problem with a box I built for my Type R 10". Alpine recommended a 3" port but that was so noisy I couldnt stand it. I input the specs of the sub in the calc and it recommended a 4" port which completely removed the port noise and even increased the output. The lower calc matches Exos calc pretty well. 14. Can I just add something to it like -Hobby- The other Hobby has never posted. I thought it might have even been me that registered it. I tried to get the password sent to my email a few times but never received any response. The board accepted my request for the password information but I never got an email.
  15. We had a great time yesterday. Thanks for the picts Andrew. I still think we should have gotten an award for the loudest POS beater at the comp We did a lot better than I thought we would too. Somehow we pulled a 145.0 3db better than our best at the last show. 144 on the first run and a 145 on the second. No way we are taking 1st with Teresa's beast of a system. Were only getting trophies when they dont show up lol. You guys down at Pulse and all your team mates did a good job for sure.
  16. Were all charged up and ready to go. I just put the sealed up grill covers back over the holes. Bretty sure the trunk is as sealed up as it can get without breaking out the expanding foam. Looks like its going to be a nice sunny day too. Im sick of all this drizzle and rail we've been having the past week.
  17. Where you coming from may03LT? Are you on the shore too? I will be there. I hooked all the Memphis equipment back up in the Mazda. I spent a little time sealing off the trunk hoping to do a better score this time. The Mazda really needs bigger batteries and an alternator but that isnt happening soon. See you Saturday.
  18. I saw a new Verizon commercial a few days ago. It had the I Phone on the "Island of Misfit Toys" with its poor coverage map. I busted out laughing at that commercial. Best one I have seen yet.
  19. Just did a little Googling and found these. Looks like they will handle the weight of an amp just fine. More for a floor mount but there are a lot of different isolators on the site. isolator
  20. Yea 2, had to do a quick edit, you beat me to it lol.
  21. If this is for the AQ's you should stick to one thread. Other Thread This makes it harder for people to help you. If it is for the 2 AQ's your port size is getting a little to big. Try and stick with 16 in per sq ft net not gross. A little smaller would be better than bigger. I think this box gets 2 AQ 18's just dosnt show it in the pict. That or the box is Way to big.
  22. Thats straight from the man at AQ. I emailed about this a week ago. He recommends 16 sq in per cube so you need a box 12 cubes berore port and sub displacement and 192 sq in of port. With the dimensions you have up there you are working with 13 cubes gross. The port is going to take up 2.3 cubic feet. Thats a 19 x 10 inch sq port 19 in long, I allowed for 3/4" port walls. Then you need to remove area for displacement. Dont have a number for that but could assume .25 to .35 for each woofer. Your already down to 10.5 to 10.75 net cubes for the box. You might get away with that but you might want to see if you can find some more space. Im building a box for my Ex cab Chevy for those same woofers with the alum coils.
