  1. Woke up to 2 fukin tickets in my mail box and a voicemail confirming the status - FUCK THAT
  2. HAHAHA Yah, everything is there! Anywayz, thanks all for answering
  3. Just what the title says: What does "IMO" mean? I've been reading that here and there in this forum but I can not comprehend at all what it stands for. Perhaps there should be other phrases I should look out for? If so, please list them in your comment with their meaning. That will definitely help me read other user's comments with understanding. ************** I know like the basics..: LOL = Laugh Out Loud ROFL = Rolling on the Floor Laughing LMAO = Laughing My A** Off FTW = For The Win Yeah.... Anyways, thanks in advance
  4. Man, wish I was a member of Steve's forum earlier However, Second Skin, based off from the video, did one heck of a job promoting their product. I'm already @ their website figuring out how much square ft. of damplifiers I may need for my trunk! I was always limited to product like Dynamat, but they were highly expensive, and in my case, overpriced. However, thanks to Steve's YouTube video, I took an interest in Second Skin. Oh how I wish I was a member of this forum earlier, ARGH !!!!
  5. That sounds very promising. And I do understand what you are trying to say. But for some unknown reason, my mind keeps thinking that the Dealer will say something like, "You guys made that crack, you pay for the damages and we will give you another one." I don't know why... I guess it's because it is my first time dealing with speakers and their issues that I'm not familiar with the whole procedure. If I had like... my iPod defective, I can easily talk my way into getting it replaced A.S.A.P Or any other electronics besides speakers. Just letting you guys know that because I don't want you guys thinking I'm annoying asking too many questions about a "speaker". First time, and it came with many issues, unfortunately. Nice first experience, eh?
  6. Seriously off topic... Waffle House opens that late? Or they any good? Ahaha, never ate there before, sorry for asking
  7. Yeah, that's what I am scared of. Because it became defective so easily, I'm not sure whether or not Acura will allow me to get a replacement. However, I do feel like they may take into consideration that I work in a professional establishment of working with automobiles body and parts, that they may recognize the speaker they gave us possibly was a defect. ^ That is a theory I'm hoping the Acura people would take into consideration. Anyhow, anybody has any thoughts or ideas whether or not they will replace the speaker? (Can't currently call them at the moment, the parts services are closed and got to head out to church.)
  8. Well, I don't really know much about the Fi BL (Sorry folks :x), but sorry to bother, may I ask how much RMS watts each of them push, or together. Also at what ohm are they? Then I might be able to contribute something
  9. *sigh* With the tools at home, I did end up stripping down the door panel and I found the problem... Apparently, there is a crack in the cone surface. I'm very disappointed. It seems as though I might have to have a talk with one of my employees. Anyhow... I figured out the problem with the limited tool supplies I had lying around in my toolbox. Thank you all for trying to figure out the problem with me. Reason I didn't want to strip down the door panel first is due to the fact that I am moving, all my tools were packed away, and I went through 1 hr. of searching through boxes to find my tools... (I was getting agitated with the "crackling" noise coming from the passenger so I decided to look for my tools.) Well... now it's all about the product problem. I just got the speaker last week, at most, 5-6 days ago, do you think the Acura Dealership will replace it, or will they charge me extra for the broken speaker? Which I find quite ridiculous, but, that's life. Edit:// THe main problem though is... when I first turned it on, everything was fine... and then next thing you know... there's a crack. Do you possibly think, besides the installing the door panel back, that there could be some other explanation why there may be a crack?
  10. Yes, I only replaced the passenger door speaker. I tested it open/closed, with/wiithout door panel. I was trying to ensure the performance of the new speaker would operate regularly.
  11. Yeah, after I installed it first time, I checked to see if sound would produce, and may I add that it sounded perfectly, I couldn't have been more satisfied. So afterward, I replace the door panel, screw everything back in, and tested the speaker just to make sure everything was ok. Everything was good to go. And all of a sudden, driving back home after work, my speaker just started to distort. I drive a 2004 Acura TL The speaker the Acura dealer gave me was probably one of their newest mods of some sort. But overall, still had the regular factory components: 20 watts RMS 2 way But just a different model number. Yeah, simple plug in the new procedure that I underwent. I did mount the speaker exactly as it came out and if I may add that it was very simple process, the speaker just fit in without any trouble. I can assure safely that I did not hit the speaker with the door panel accidentally, due to years of experience, but however, I do plan on checking up as soon as monday. The speaker amp is a new 2008 factory amp that I replaced with the old factory amp due to the fact that I had warranty. Yeah, and I'm in the same boat as you, EVERYTHING is factory, the only thing I added is a mono amp powering a 300watt RMS single 12" subwoofer. And to install it, all I simply did was connected some cables from the factory sub outlet into a line out converter box. Not necessarily wires issue, sorry if I worded that weirdly. But currently some issues involve: the sub just not producing much bass as it use to - solution: under warranty, getting a replacement over the weekend. and the other one was basically the current issue right now: replacing the passenger door speaker. I only ask about wiring information because that is a field in which I am not familiar with, as I work with auto parts on vehicles, but because of my enthusiasm for bass, I wanted to install a subwoofer into my car. I do look forward on learning more about speakers.
  12. No sir, everything seemed fine to me. Plugged right into the new speaker with ease.
  13. Ok, so I've had previous posts about speaker and subwoofer problems. Well, I did manage to find a solution for both of them. The problem is, when I replaced my passenger door speaker with a NEW speaker, all of a sudden the speaker is distorting. I haven't had a chance to strip the door panel yet (the tools are at my shop, closed weekends) but when I installed it, it was a clean installation. Afterward, when I tested the sound before setting up the panel back on, everything was clear and precise, I had all the functions back to normal. But yesterday driving back home, I decided to turn on the radio. (I'm having my subwoofer replaced, so decided not to listen to my tracks and turned off the sub controls) Next thing you know, there's a minor distortion going on coming from the same passenger door speaker. Could there possibly be some kind of wiring damage that can cause such distortion? I'm asking this question because I do not have any experience with wires, but I can easily take apart a car. I'm planning sometime soon to check on the speaker during the weekdays, but for now, I'm wondering if there are possibility of wiring damages. Information: - Stock Speakers - Stock headunit I ordered stock speakers from Acura (I get discounts) to replace the blown out speaker. Even with a new speaker, there's still distortion going on. Please help. I'll provide any necessary information when requested upon. Thank you for your time.
  14. I must say, in recent news, it seems like our nation doesn't quite see North Korea a threat. I was watching the news and the only main concern people of United States had was wondering if the Stimulus Package from Obama was really working. Hah! Maybe because North Korea isn't getting any attention that they have resorted to Nuclear Warfare. Man... Kim Jong Il must be an attention seeker.... Anyone know of any news whose allied with North Korean?
  15. True, the speaker itself is mad cheap, however, I learned the hard way that it's better to spend a bit to ensure you get good enough quality to satisfy one's taste. But thanks for the help!
  16. The power handling of the ROckford is at RMS: 80 watts per pair / 40 watts each THe factory speakers are at 20 watts RMS each. As you can see, there is a huge difference between the 2 speakers. Is it possible to blow the Rockford speakers? Even if not enough power is being supplied? And because of the lack of power, will the sound be good, bad, any chance of distortion? INformation: I do not really listen to my music loud, I would normally have the volume around, 10-11 out of 40.
  17. Haha, cool, thanks for clearing that out for me, for some reason it was a tough question. (Me being all new to the audio industry) Yeah, those Rockford are really something, I still haven't ordered them yet... But I seriously need them! Today, I had my music on, the right speaker... completely blew out on me... I know how to take out the door panel and such but the problem is... no tools... My father owns a body shop, but he HATES the fact that I'm spending money on stuff like speakers. So he refuses to help me out with these kind of stuff, afraid that my chances of crashing will increase. What he says is true, but, I have NEVER spent my money on ANYTHING except the sub + amp. So yeah, I'm in a turmoil at the moment.~ Yet, I need those Rockfords!!!
  18. Ah, I've seen that video before, it's CRAZY! Hm.. just trynna do some home experiments with my sub WITHOUT killing it, haha!
  19. I have no idea what that means, but if it involves anything with the house/room itself, impossible We are planning on moving so I can't have any destruction of walls.
  20. Heh, I feel as though all hope is lost for my 8" sub.
  21. I definitly like the Rockford Fosgate, WOW! And yes, I totally agree with you about the shipping... that is wayy too costly. Luckily I still haven't bought any yet. But yeah, will my factory amp be able to supply power to those speakers? It would just be underpowered right? Not to it's full capability till' I get an amp? (which probably won't happen in a year or 2)
  22. Well, I replaced my factory 8" 2 ohm 40 watts RMS speaker with a Boston Acoustic 12" And now it's just lying down in my room. I am not going to sell it. I am not going to give it away. I am not going to use this in any other vehicle. I want to treasure it :01nocomment8so: I would like to make some use of this 8" component speaker in my house. What I have: - iLamp - a lamp that provides light and connects to my iTouch. - speaker wires Do you think it's possible to connect the iLamp to my 8" sub? Overall, what is some exciting experiment I can do, which won't cost me ANYTHING. I mean, if I can get the sub pumpin' with spending few cash, I'll possibly think about it So yeah... what to do with this sub Please help out! I hate watching my "treasured" sub just lying down doing nothing. Thanks all in advance! Note: Sub pushes 40 watts. I am possibly not going to spend over... $20? Either way, if you guys can think of something, make it as less costly as possible. Thanks!
  23. Yeah the Pioneer TS-G1342R, is currently the one that seems most compatible and fairly priced. With the shipping price included, I guess it would save me $10.00 from Crutchfield. Now I got to call to make sure they will fit in the door with ease.
  24. Thanks, it is a very sourceful website. Do they sell the speakers in pair? I cannot find anything saying that they do. Once again, thanks for the help!
  25. I have a 2004 Acura TL With a blown out speaker.... (It was a used car, previous owner took such horrible care of the car) But anyhow, I love my car, but with that door speaker blown out, I feel like I have to like... KILL SOMETHING! :censored: So yes, any suggestions on which speakers to replace it with? Information: Size of the Speaker: 5-1/4" 2 way car speaker. Watts: @ 20 watts RMS Location: Passenger door speaker. I'm probably going to buy pairs, just to replace my driver side anyhow. I'm also looking for speakers pushing 20 watts RMS because then the factory amp will be able to push. (Kind of on a budget to NOT buy a new amp, hopefully when things get better I can work on seriously upgrading my system) So far, I've looked into these speakers: Sony XS-GT1326A (speakers from Crutchfield) Priced @: $60.00 I don't want to limit myself just to those, because I do not know any other RELIABLE places. So yeah, I'm in desperate need of help and I am open to any suggestions. Thank you all in advance!
