  1. Thats where I started a couple days ago AMI, the Gray/purple only has voltage when starting the car, no tin the run position. I tapped into purp/green under the dash and when the heater is turned on, the voltage drops to almost zero. Now, that same purple/green wire at the SJB(passenger kick) stays at 12.6 even with the fan on. Im gonna hook it up there and see what happens. Back in a few.
  2. I'm using the right wire, consulted with Ray before doing the install(he's done this car before). I'm heading out to by new leads for my DMM. I'll report back to you guys in a bit. I doubt that. Voltage drop to the switched wire sounds the most logical. The memory stays set, so its no the 12v. We'll see, be back in about 30 minutes.
  3. Yes, just a plug. My connections are good, 12v and ground at the factory radio harness, ign off the accessory wire from the ignition. Only thing I can think is, when the fan comes on the voltage in that acc wire is going down. I need to get a new dmm lead(one broke) to check that.
  4. Checked all the wiring again and tried what Loudcivic said. Still does the same shit. I'm thinking about running a second hotwire with an inline switch if I can't figure this out. Click the picture to watch:
  5. I'll try it. If that is the case, do I just need to find a better ground for the deck? I spliced it into the ground wire on the factory harness.
  6. Yeah, the dash kit has a completely seperate harness from the deck, they are not connected at all. Fucking wierd man. Already checked all the wires I spliced, it all looks good.
  7. I installed a Metra dash kit on my 2010 Mustang with no problems, until I tried the a/c. If I turn on the a/c, fan, or heater, the radio turns off. When the fan is turned off, the radio comes back on and continues like nothing happened. Any installers out there who have installed one of these kits, please chime in here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would like to use my heater/ac and radio at the same time. Here's the kit Metra Mustang dash kit
  8. After using the RF T400-4, I recommend it every time. What kind of power are you looking for?
  9. Decided on the new components i'm gonna run, so these must go. $110 shipped each set, $200 for both. One set has had everything out of the plastic to figure out wiring configurations, but has not seen power. Come and get 'em.
  10. Im switching components, so i'll have to recheck everything again. The amp is a DC 175.4, front channels for components, rear channels for midbass 8's. No doubt, using both x-overs. Switching to RF T1652's, so i'll wire 'em up when I get them, parallel and series, to check final impedence. That would be ideal, but i'm using the rear channels for my midbass. I am out of room for amps, hardly got space for the 2 i've got. So 2 comps per front channel(getting 2-3 ohms ideally) and an 8" per rear channel at 2 ohms.
  11. I will trade both of these for a single set of RF 1652-S or RE XXX components.
  12. Nope. Nothings getting hooked up until my door panels get done. Well each component in this component set has a different impedence, so I don't know. It is what it is, just gotta see if its loud enough at that impedence.
  13. Yeah thats how I did it. The final imp came to 5ohms. The mids are 2ohm and the tweeters are 3ohm. I didn't check the crossovers alone to see what their imp is.
  14. Nice man, thanks. You gotta share whatever site/program you found that on.
  15. You would think so, right? All I need to know really is the 12v, switched power, and ground colors. I can probe and test, but knowing what color wire to look for will make it easier in the morning when I tackle this. And nobody even makes a wire-harness adapter for this car. They make them for the upgraded system with nav and shit, but not my lowly base stereo.
  16. I'm trying to find a wire diagram to figure out what color is what on the factory radio harness. Google has me running in circles. If you guys know where to find it, let me know. The car is a 2010 Mustang Gt with the base stereo. No navigation or Shaker system. Thanks for any help.
  17. Alright, I just wired it all up this way and it came out to a final impedence of 5 ohms. Now I gotta figure out how many watts per channel the DC 175.4 will put out per channel at 5 ohms.
  18. I'll be running 2 sets of comp.'s per channel when I build my doors. Would I wire the crossover inputs like this? (Pretend the pictured speakers are the x-overs) Note, my components are 2 ohm so it would be a load of 4.
  19. Supposed to get my headunit and sub today via FedEx. I've seen 2 Fedex trucks in my apartment complex today, but not for me. They're fucking with my emotions.

This always happens to me too... Why don't they just make one stop?!

  20. The status bar needs to be disconnected from Facebook. It's irritating to see these fucking soap opera or softy posts. I come here and expect to see system updates there, but I see shit about "the girl I love" or "if your dad was the best, love him". Keep that shit on Facebook. IMO the status bar should be better moderated or disconnected from Facebook all together. /morning rant
