  1. Here's how the door panels came back from the upholstery guys... sometimes we do this in-house, sometimes we outsource (this was one of those times as we had other projects going on besides this) And the box came back from the painter...painted pearl-white to match the car
  2. the box is just about ready for some filler as it will be painted to match the car Going to work on the front door panels
  3. This box is glassed inside and out - 4layers of mat just on the outside
  4. More pics of the teardown of the previous install....I'm not even commenting that .. enough of that, already said it was a hack job on all levels Skipping over some steps here...right on to mocking up the layout of the new system
  5. Hey guys, wanted to share one of the latest builds done by my good friend and Team Sundown Russia member - Drugban This is a pearl-white Mazda 3 MPS, 18" rims. Came in to the shop with some Kicker SS65's, Kicker amps, S15L7 and a pretty crappy install done elsewhere...check the pics After replacing his sub twice and having one of the comp sets die the owner decided it was time for a rebuild.... after checking the port length we calculated a tunning of 60Hz which explained the problems with the subs...not to mention the hack job on the wiring with a 4 awg ground to the body on a 0awg positive front to back run New components were selcted in no time: Sony headunit for the soundsytem and a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD for multimedia Front stage: Dual Kicker SS 65.2's rear-fill single Kicker SS 65.2 Subs 3xSundown Audio SA-12 D4's Subs Sundown Audio SAX100.4 Sundown Audio SAZ 3500D a fresh 55Ah Optima under the hood and a 75Ah Optima in the back with Knu 0awg wiring
  6. Vex, the vids are great!!! what are your plans on how you're going to mount the neo's (how many??) and how are they gonna be crossed over?
  7. Sundown FTW as said above since we're on the subject of loud 12's, we also have the national record for a single 12 in Stock 1 - 153.8 sealed on the dash it's a Sundown z12v2
  8. around 4600-4900 after rise and accounting for voltage drop....but yah
  9. we also had 150.4 on one SA12 and one SAZ3500D @1ohm ....two SAZ350's strapped brought the score up to 151.69 sealed on the dash and 152.85 in the kick http://www.bassclub.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=11193
  10. weight is also a factor in overseas shipping...as well as overall box dimensions. two subs is still a bunch of weight irrespective of how you pack it...and since overseas is 99% airmail - you get charged for weight..... get some quotes from USPS, DHL, FedEx
  11. $700 for two subs and shipping? Good luck with that... I'd figure at least 150$ per sub in shipping, that leaves $400 for two 18's - my best guess is look for some used Fi BL18's or DC Level4's - anything stronger than that will be heavier and more expensive to ship
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-BMSpZHnLg I don't think this vid has been posted yet - pretty cool though with the TL in oscilloscope mode showing a 156.3 peak at 32Hz
  13. so...anyone see that facebook movie? Good stuff Steve! I've been working on the same idea locally with my http://www.groundpounder.ru/ ....but my web guy is muuuch slower I'ma join...i don't dig social networks in general, but a car-audio related one sounds good to me
