from my experience if the sub has to be firing up two slot ports back works by far the best. a long skiny port alone the bottom didnt sound as good as two. the box is more ridged with 2 ports.

if the ports are 1.25" wide x 11.5" tall x 11" long internal volume after port displacements your looking at 3.782 cuft @ 39.89hz. of the top of my head i would say 5 cuft @ 40hz with each port 2.5" wide will yeld more spl and still sound good on music.

today neil owner of rollin audio came by my house needing a ported enclosure for 2 15" hcca. and when he saw this enclosure he wanted to hear it. hooked up a modded 1501d and played a couple tracks. gets pretty loud with only 12v to the amp. i will make a video of it tomorrow and post it here.

i spread the glue to insure max bond. picture of the port bend after the truckbed liner and port painted. needs a sub..... i just happen to have a 18" sub that forevrbumpn made for me that needed a home sub and enclosure in back of my explorer. alittle over 8 cuft after displacements tuned @ 31hz the amp i will be using is a modded mtx 1501d @ 1ohm whatcha think? i have two 1501d oem and another thats modded. i want to sell only one. $300 local to sacramento ca. or trade for a sub thats 1ohm dvc and can handle 3000wrms daily

thanks for the replys. last i told the guy was, cost of materials plus a 18" omega from casade designs. but i like how you would charge forevrbumpin. i work very effencet i dont take 2 hour breaks so maybe alittle more than $20hr. usally when i do one of my specials ($100 for a ported enclosure designed for your listen preference and audio equipment, it takes me 3 hours tops. so after $40 for materials it works out the same. but an enclosure that i asked about in this thread will take aleast 4 or 5 full days. $$$$$$$ hey ken. im almost done with the accord i was tellin you about. i worked on it all of yesterday and all of today. almost done just alittle more glassing here and there then install the top piece of mdf. then im done. then it time to start the next customer in line, he wants a kerfed ported enclosure carpeted with lime green paint in the port, no 90s all 45s. box for a single 18" omega. then two others. man i think i need to hire some help. it seems everyone all at once wants my enclosures... looks like the horn style ported enclosure with 8 12" hx2 loaded iso is the one were going with. but without the braces between the subs. dont wanta resrtict the air flow. thanks noobtastic for pointing that out.

i have looked through one of those a few years ago. looked intersting. i wanted to barrow the one im talking about but the guy was not givin it up. ...... oh and ken this sub you made looks badass, i cant wait to make a huge ported box for it and hook it up to my modded 1501d. thanks dawgy.

i did that design in like 2 mins, just to give the guy an idea of what i was talking about. not to scale. if we can keep the back seat, we will. so he could leave it up for passengers or down when there is nobody sitting back there. but if it has to go, bye bye

no i didnt think of iso in that design but 8 iso like that might be a better idea vs 4 in the same design he is willing to run 4,6 or 8 whatever sounds best .
