And here is the final product, doesn't look very good but it does it's job! As you can see we messed up on the top hole and it is way beefier than the stock. I had to sacrifice an unused 1/2" metal shooting target I had laying around. Cut and welded 2 pieces to gether, shaped, painted, and installed. Sorry for no installed pictures. -

Here is the new bracket welded together, very rough shape right now, and the stock bracket. -

^^^This or You could move your battery to the truck. From what I understand its impossible to run dual alts in the Mazda 3. Damn you Mazda and your sneaky ways. My battery is on the opposite side of the motor not even close to the belts. This is for an 05 Neon SXT. -

I will take some pictures when I get home from work this morning. It isn't too far off of the stock bracket, just beefier and isn't pretty. We messed up on drilling a hole so we ended up slotting it and I only had red rustoleum paint. Just wanted some sort of rust protection from the winter months, damn Iowa and Illinois weather and all the salt they put down... -

I would love to run a dual alt setup! The Neon doesn't have much room under the hood. I would have to take out my A/C to achieve it. -

I really don't use my A/C. Used it maybe a dozen times this year. I never thought of that! -

Got it in! Build a new bracket. A lot of thanks go out to my brother in law, welded and shaped the bracket for me and helped me install my alternator. And thanks MECHMAN great communication and a great product! Just wish my neon had room for another! -

It's for a 2005 dodge neon sxt. I made some phone calls and I might be fabricating a new bracket. Not what I really want to do but right now it's the only option I can see doing. I will take pics when I get back to my car. I'm taking the stock bracket to my brother in law's now. I happened to have some 1/2"plate steel -
I purchased an alternator back in August, first one didn't work, wrong plug and output setup. So waited a couple of weeks, they sent me another one, correct plug and output setup but the mounting bolt locations are now 1/2" to far apart and wont fit. Is there a way to get hold of someone from mechman after hours?

Yeah I'll probably use great stuff foam. I really don't care if I fill the trunk lid! I think it'd make it pretty solid! Thanks for the helpful tips! -

OK, thanks for the tip! Now I just have to figure out how to take my headliner out without f-ing too much stuff up! Also I have some hard to reach areas in my trunk lid that I can't get my hands into so would I just want to cover up these areas or should I get some great stuff expanding foam to fill in this area first then cover it? Will this matter? -

No, the foil is a little thinner than what Ant's specs say. Yes wrong color and cut longer. Still a good deal, so I didn't turn it down! This is going in an '05 neon, so probably 1/2 - 1/3 the size of the impala trunk, lol. But I'm thinking about doing all doors, trunk, roof, and if I have some less some on the floor too! But my trunk sounds hella bad! -

I ain't scared....I'll just cut it into more managable pieces so I don't have to worry about poking through the foil! -
Damned it! Wish I would have known...I would just like to know what I hit!
