  1. I think he meant they can't be reconed. But I'm not sure.
  2. Yeah. I'm thinking audioque because they are cheap and I've heard good stuff about them. Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking either the Lanzar of the Kicker right now because I've bought from one company and heard good things about the other.
  3. We need a better pic. I can't see anything. Not to mention the positive wire looks like a human vein wrapped in a clear jacket with an end covered in blue bondo.
  4. There's a tutuorial somewhere about posting pics. I don't feel like searching for it.
  5. Somethin's def. wrong... But what? :sarcasm: It's better, but I don't quite understand what you are saying.
  6. More like 330 or 340. Course the seller's claiming their new. And thanks but no thanks on the MTX's, i want to push 1k daily on 1 15", not 2. Thanks for the offer though. EDIT: Does the Crunch GPV2000.1 have a good, clean output? I want some clean power, but I'm not sure about them. I have the 700.2 and it runs really good and is very reliable for it's cost. EDIT: Please don't laugh, but I would PM Rusty, right? Just want to make sure.
  7. I was about to PM about the price, but I don't know if those will take 1kW daily. I know they are conservatively rated, but I'm not sure how much.
  8. According to your info, your pushing 520 RMS to a sub designed for 500 RMS and your gain is "About 3/4 max". you didn't properly set your amp. Use this: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...ost&p=62427 To set your amp. I'll do the math for you. Use a DMM set to AC voltage, play a test tone (I can't remember which frequency) and turn the gain up till your DMM hits 31.62 volts. EDIT: play a 50Hz test tone with all settings on the HU and amp set to flat and start the gain at the minimum.
  9. Not planning on it. I was looking around to find one. I've yet to find one I like but I'll keep looking. I was kinda leaning towards the Hifonics line.
  10. OK, so I've narrowed it down to 3 choices: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14028 <Lanzar http://www.woofersetc.com/p5373/T515--Soun...s-Subwoofer.htm <Soundstream http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6515_K...pVX+Series.html <Kicker (I would rather buy new than refurb) But I have a few questions. 1. How much airspace does the Lanzar (or the soundstream) need in a ported enclosure. My current design has 4 and I would like to keep it that way if possible.
  11. I see how they would be dangerous. That vid was pretty cool, though.
  12. I'd say up top in the middle. But that's just me.
  13. Could I just calculate how long one port would have to be to get my desired frequency and then put more ports in till I get the area I need?
  14. I was talking about this one: http://www.woofersetc.com/p6714/08S15L52--...m-Subwoofer.htm which tacomabanga posted. I am looking at the CVX 15 as well. And one more question, how would I figure the tuning on two (or more) round ports? EDIT: fixed sumthin.
  15. I plan on pushing 1000W RMS @ 1-ohm. The power acoustik is D4 ohm VC so it's a no go. The kicker can only take 750 but I might look at it. I'm liking the Soundstream sub. I might look into it. I'm also looking at the HDC3, what's the price on it?
  16. Oh, I forgot to mention I want to run it at 1 ohm.
  17. I was thinking something similar about the SPL sub. I wasn't sure because that's the first I've ever heard of them. I know the DC's are rated conservatively(sp?) so that's why I was wondering. I'm somewhat willing to save the money and buy a lvl 4, but I would be a while without beat. What's the cheapest 15" I can get that will take 1kW daily and be reliable?
  18. So what, I'm trying to decide. Not to mention I've been sick the last 3 days, so I've had some time to think. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has heard of this sub? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17658_SPL+SP3-15.html If that's not a good sub, could anyone recommend a good 15" that will handle 1kW daily for around $200? Will the DC lvl 3 15" take 1kW daily? EDIT: If so, I'll PM for the price. I'm probably gonna faint, but I'll think about.
