  1. I know RCA is my limiting factor. I just want one that will give as good a picture as RCA can carry. Actually you can with the right software. I have a couple USB headsets with mics, but they require dedicated software. Any way, I found what I needed. Thanks for the help.
  2. Same thing. Good luck with the build Steve. I hope you can find a place for all thos amps.
  3. I already have a VGA ouput on my laptop so I don't need that card. I had to look to be sure it was VGA because I've only used it once.
  4. I'm not sure if my HU has s-video inputs, but I know it has RCAs. The resolution according to the manual, "336,960 sub pixels, 1440 (W) X 234 (H)".
  5. I'm trying to use my laptop computer as my carputer. I just need a USB to RCA video adapter so I can use my HU as a screen. I plan on later putting in a monitor in the center console, but for now, I don't have the money. I know what I'm looking for exists because my school has one. The only problem is, it outputs a crappy video signal, so I don't plan on using it. Or that will work. Do you have any idea of the picture quality?
  6. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=1005 That should help you decide. Edit: do you mean the mmats 3500.05?
  7. I have a laptop that I want to make my carputer. I need a USB to RCA video adapter, but can't seem to find one. I did find one on another site, but when I clicked the link, I found that it had been discontinued and is no longer available (it was on Newegg.com, BTW). Can anyone recommend a good adapter? I also have a VGA output (I think it's VGA).
  8. Thanks. The wax would be hard to get a hold of. The nearest Harley dealership is nearly 1 hour away. But I'll get in my next trip over that way. One more question. My paint looks pretty horriible even with most of the swirls gone (long story short, car washes with brushes and bristles and mud don't mix). I saw some product called "ColorRestore" (or something like that) on the shelf at one of the auto parts stores. Would that help or not? I'll post a pic if I can, but pics don't quite capture the extent of the damage.
  9. I used to have a 30 gig ipod video. One day the battery shorted and blew the video card and hard drive to hell. Unfortunately, the warranty had run out the week before. I don't have enough money to get another one. I'm gonna build a carputer instead.
  10. So I used to have a good method for removing swirls. Unfortunately, the local auto stores (only 3 of them around) dropped one of the product lines I used. I used the meguiars 3 step deep crystal paint system before they dropped it completely. Does anyone know any good products that would replace these? They were paint cleaner (not car wash, but a seperate cleaner similar to wax), polish, and wax. Or if anyone knows a better way to remove swirls and light scratches, please let me know.
  11. Actually, if you know where to buy from and your willing to put down the money, you can get cameras that record up to 500 pics per second. I really wish I had one.
  12. 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in school, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at work, get ready to leave and go out to your car to find you've been blocked in by 3 crappy vans and a jalopy that won't start...F*** THAT! You wanta steal from me and then sue me for calling the police on you...F*** THAT! You wanta attempt to run me off the road, then try and sue me for the damages to your car...F*** THAT!
  13. 30-45 CFM should be enough.
  14. You could get a comercial diesel truck with the extended cab (the kind made for cross-country hauling) and wall it in. There's gotta be enough room for 10 or so 18"s. You could put a few hundred amps and batteries in a trailer. :hairtrick: :hairtrick: Now to be serious, I like that idea. That's what I would do.
  15. I just ordered the alarm. It should be here soon. Thanks.
  16. Yeah, it's only 79.99. That's a good price for that alarm. I have to look at my balance and see if I have enough money.
  17. I've looked at it and I definitely like it. Thanks for the help.
  18. If i had to guess, he removed the dash faceplate.
  19. I've been looking at several different manufacturers websites for a cheap reliable alarm. I want one with at least 1 auxilary output, but 2 would be desirable. I only need 1 door unlock, because the locks on both the doors are connected to the same circuit (both lock/unlock at the same time regardless of which switch is used) Does anyone know a good one. My budget is 150 dollars, if possible. And no, my truck didn't come stock from the factory with an alarm, so an OEM alarm add-on will not work.
  20. Hmmm... I'll definitely look into them. Thanks. If anyone else wants to weigh in on the subject, I'll listen.
