think i would look into getting a new 1 for the front and use the old one in the back, and this time get a holder for the batt. You live and learn. thanks for your help though.

checked the alt, its charging at 14.32 to 14.4... think its because of the heat, the radiator / fan is directly infront the battery (maybe 2 inches separation). Also the engine is a bit bigger than the normal, 1300cc instead of 990cc, so extra heat perhaps

@ little buck, its the "D" series....@ kbsmoker.. really sucks, i just paid a load on shipping..

what i would like to know is if it can still be used in that condition, because i am living in the caribbean, and warranty, because of shipping costs, would most likely be out of the question... it is still sitting @ 12.71 V... car has been of since last night. Can it still be used with the swelling?

The battery is a xs power D975 it came on wednesday, i installed it on thursday because it was sitting at 12.8 volts which the instructions said it could be installed after a day of use i noticed the battery got swollen system includes br 1700 at 4ohms and 1 800watt mids/ highs amp what could be done in this case, could the battery still function, help

I have 1 lanzar optidrive 500x2 (4 x 40 a fuses), a boss ce2004 (2 x 35 a fuses) for mids and highs and 1 rockford fosgate t1000-1bdcp (rec. 150 a external fuse) for bass. Which would be better for my application a D3400 or XP3000? Big 3 done, stock 90 alt, Optima yellowtop up front (will replace with D975), daily driver. Weight is also an issue.

I wanted to know if anyone here had any experience with eminence loudspeakers or why most people here shy away from using them (loudspeakers in general) for car audio? I have been using them (eminence) with no problem (imo) but just want to know your opinions. Also what do you think of these for midbass/midrange?

Ok kool.. the $800 was just my estimation.. i live in the Caribbean... and shipping costs and customs duty almost doubles the original price.. thats why i said $800.. And about the 3K.. i just figured to get the total you add the rated RMS for each amplifier.. is that incorrect?

that was total.. would another D3100 help? Really running away from getting a HO alt... cost including shipping and taxes would run me about maybe $800 What if i get a 2nd stock alt?

I am in the process of upgrading my audio system and i was wondering what electrical upgrades would be absolutely necessary (on a budget) Car is a Mazda Demio 2000. Stock 70 amp alt, stock batt. Audio system: Boss audio CE2004 4 channel- mids & highs- 2 x 30 amp fuse Soundstream TRA 800.2 2 channel- mids- 1 x 80 amp fuse Rockford fosgate T1000-1bd- Sub- external 150 amp fuse 300 amps maximum current draw.. This is a daily setup with maybe a few small comps/demos... Would not be used for burps.. only music. Would i be able to power everything with the big 3 and 2 runs of 1/0 (neg. and pos.) throughout and 1 D3100 up front??
