  1. yeah im leaning towards the 3.90 but the 4.2 only has 150 to 200 ftlbs of torque so maybe the 4.10 would work better. because i will be having 2 xls and a wall in my truck daily. as well as any other stuff that goes in the bed.
  2. hey guys i have a ford f150. its a 4.2 v6 so there are not many performance options out there for me. standard gears are 3.55 i have the truck lifted with 33'' inch tires on it. plus the shit load of soundsystem equipment. its lacking in low end power. i dont normally speed or drive over 80 on the interstate. so what im asking is. what would give me a good boost without absolutely destroying mpg. and id rather not be doing 3500 rpm at 70 mph i thinking that larger gears would help my mpg making it easier to move the tires. but would a 3.9 or 4.10 gear be better. i can also go to about a 4.56 gear. there are some in between as well. thanks guys.
  3. itll definitely put out some power.
  4. i have that mb quart running two selenium 8 in and two 6in midbass drivers as well as two crecendo supertweeters. that amp is solid and has great sq im glad i bought it
  5. i wouldnt. do level 4 soft parts and youll be pushing the limits. maybe add an extra stiff spider. and make the box a little on the small side i have two 3's with 4 soft parts and they take 2200 daily. they stink a little at full tilt for a while. but they handle it
  6. what size amps are yall planning on producing. im wanting to strap two 3ks or 3.5's ball park. im planning on crecendo but if yalls prices are comparable ill think about it.
  7. lol okay we can build a box for your car and play it on the 2k lol and yeah im swaping baskets then reconing
  8. got a xl the other day thinking i was picking up a level 4. any ways long story short. i picked it up for free pretty much. traded an alpine type r for it. and before anyone thinks i jipped my boy. he knew the type r was a lower level sub anyways heres some pics. gonna recone to a 15 and do two in a 4th order wall.
  9. ANd i just told you today i didnt want your blown lvl 3 12. haha... im planning on using the new lvl 3s when they come out. new lvl 3? they're redesigning the motors for the level three. idk if we are supposed to be talking about the specs right now though. but basically better power handling.
  10. i think maybe a new box for the 15... or do that sealed trunk with two 12's .
  11. yeah but the ones that arent peaky do they get as loud on the same amount of power as ones that are tuned to be? also I dont think i could get a good 4th order in my trunk for 2 12s. i dont think.... yeah probably not. since that single 15 blowed. but my system is pretty solid all around. it was extremely peaky at first then i just brought the tuning down and had some more port area and just a little bit of tweaking and it just brough the peak down but still pushing the same loudness
  12. not all 4th orders are super peaky. yours is really peaky because the ports are not allowing the air to flow smoothly. also because your cars resonating fq isnt going to help the box at all. i had to do a lot of trial and error with the ports on my box. and well you know how it sounds.
  13. ive had a guy actually sprint out in front of my truck when he was jogging. crosswalk on a bend on a road thats a 50mph speed limit. a pedestrian is supposed to be cautious as well. just because there is a cross walk doesnt mean you run out into traffic. i nearly hit the guy. and broke some soundsystem equipment that i was transporting in the process.
  14. ive heard two 18's they're not that impressive sq wise. if you have the option id do something else
  15. used the hu first. no clip at full volume but i set it lower than that. then the amp
  16. jigsaw!? haha awesome. looks pro routers with round over bits work wonders! lol yeah i knew that part. but the actual letter shape looks great
  17. its hard enough to do one 15 in a trunk. let alone two. using ideal specs im sure youll have a hell of a time doing it
  18. awesome. i figured something along those lines. i have two level 3's on a bc 2k so not quite a lower line but it gets down really well. im proud of them. waiting for the new level 3's to come out so i can buy 15's and finish my truck lol and i did notice a big sq jump between the -5 and the -10.
  19. i have an auidobahn ah275. not a super spectacular amp. and too flashy for me. but however it did rated power and has been through alot. still trucking today and being used as a temporary amp on a sa12. its laughing at the power but its better than nothing at all. anyways. my experience with that amp is a plus. im glad ive had it and its reliable. but id go elsewhere overall. just my .02
  20. Lol being a gold member i can + or - comments in threads FTW! So I gave ya a plus! LOL Hence why I am saying the tone disc included with the dd-1 has multiple tones for your music listening needs.. From 0db, -3db, etc to -15db iirc from reading the book the other night. Besides test tones are a dime a dozen. you can find many of them at all different decibel level on just about every audio site. i just used the dd1 today at my local shop. first we set the gains using the -10 because i like the low low music and wanted to get as much power as i could. but my subs started to stink. not due to clipping just simply being over powered. so we set gains with the -5. but i fully do not understand the difference between the two. can someone explain?
