  1. im not bashing him. i obviously was just saying that he is ignorant to car audio not that he is an idiot. and i am going to help him put together his equipment and building a box
  2. he just doesnt know. but i feel like common sense would say hey. if this box is made for most 12'' subwoofers. whats the difference between my level 4 and something else. at least i would do some research.
  3. just want to share my frustration. this guy is rich. i am poor. he knows nothing about car audio and wants to put 2 level 4's in a prefab. times like this are when i wish i could smack someone for being ignorant lol. youd think if you spent 300 dollars on a subwoofer putting it in a 120 dollar box made for every sub would seem stupid. such as why not buy a 50 dollar sony xplode if you gonna do that.

  5. yes i know. ive replaced head gaskets before. but in my automotive class. im not looking forward to it. it still runs but i leak antifreeze and oil into a couple of my cylinders. im going to try and use some of the headgasket fixer stuff that you dump in your antifreeze to see if that helps at all. Guaranteed or your money back. so i guess its worth a shot.
  6. i have a D3400 and its really strong. you can charge at 15.0 volts all day. no experience with the other. but im pretty sure with the alt and two of either battery you should be good.
  7. well i was looking into a 302 or a 289 swap. which i could get for 500 bucks almost. but of course my parents being the ones who have to fork over the money get to have their way. i dont really want to go fast in my truck haha its terrifying. feels like a boat going down the road. if my truck topped out at 75 id be a happy camper. i do love my acceleration though. EDIT: i do have a huge laundry list of things id love to do to this truck. but right now its a NEED/WANT issue.

  9. we have not gotten all the pricing together yet. i just found out my headgasket was blown on tuesday. so im still in the process of how am i going to afford all this.
  10. thats option 3 ^ Btw: try not to go off what your friends say too much. unless they actually know what they're doing alot of the time people who dont actually know what they're doing will say "hey i can make your subs louder by turning the gain all the way up" as you sit and watch them destroy your subs. in an effort to make it sound more like crap at louder volumes.
  11. i would have to save up for it. but i just didnt want to spend 400 bucks to not see much of a real difference. if im going to buy a tuner i dont mind spending that much.
  12. do you think it would be worth it in my application? i have 33's on my truck and alot of weight in soundsystems stuff. i dont really tow many things. i just wouldnt know what kind of power gains to expect from this.
  13. how much do those x3's normally cost. ? im not looking to spend 200 dollars or anything crazy like that. and i planned on reflashing the old ECM to get everything set right
  14. but what i dont understand is how that plug just stops working. its tied directly into the computer. its not like cracked or anything
  15. yeah i hear ya. my AOD shits like crap. it doesnt have any low end power. and i didnt want to spend the money to regear my rear end.
  16. okay well this is a problem. my OBD plug does not work. i have no earthly idea why. but ive plugged up a modus and get no readings whatsoever. i was trying to figure out which o2 sensor went bad and couldnt get any codes. EDIT: its a 2000 Ford F150 4.2 V6
  17. what would you suggest. im not looking for huge HP gains. just enough to help get better mpg and a little umpft
  18. well im most likely getting an entire new 4.2 engine due to a blown headgasket. im rebuilding the tranny as well due to various issues. so i was gonna just try and upgrade as much of the easy stuff as i can while the engine is out. via: new headers, exhaust. O2 sensors, cats and intake. so should i do the programmer later? or does it even matter
  19. i know alot of chips are kinda finiky with the actual output results. but this seems pretty legit. its hard to find stuff for a 4.2L V6 F150 Stage 1 performance
  20. i was in class. i dont remember what grade. but alls i can remember is coming home and watching the news all night. crying. even as a youngster i was trying to understand the gravity of the situation. i cant imagine how the people who lost family and friends are taking everything.
