questions about SPL design for 2 8's
1030tooled replied to lilwhteranger's topic in SPL - SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL
Is 2 all you are going to do? Can you get 4 in there? I assume you will use the space between the seats from the dash to the back of cab? Try to get more in there if posible. 2 8" L7 will do the job inside the cab,.......if that's what you want. -
Very educated responce!

2 RE 10's or 3 RE 8's???
1030tooled replied to Mobile Chassis Dyno's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
I got three Pioneer 10's('98 models) into an old '93 regular cab Ranger with a sealed wood box. The internal was 3.5 cu. ft. The guy wanted something in his truck, but didn't want to sit into the dash with the seat all the way up. I laughed! The 8" will be more shallow then the 10". Putting subs into a single cab MINI requires room being used. You could do 1 8" sub or 4 8" subs and the seat position will be the same. Like wise with any sub.(unless it is a 60/40 seat and behind the passenge seat gets the sub) 4 8", 3 10", or 3 12"(a shallow one) will fit with some leg room. -
Did you ever check it? ..........I'm guessing 90db's peak 1 meter from 1 window!

What would it do, about 1 meter outside from the window?

STOP what you are about to do and send them out to be reconed. These subs are not like the subs today. The tolerance on the strokers are very high and if not set correctly the results will be very poor. A recone shop has all the nessary tools and jigs to set them right up. You have some NASTY subs that love to be in a bandpass situation.
