Well I didn't say that the strength of the dollar will hurt gas prices, I said soon it will regain strength becoming more valuable, and therefore we could buy much more gas for the same dollar. And I don't know whether or not alternative sources of power will hurt OPEC soon, but in the long run, when oil supplies diminish anyway, gas will greatly raise in price and other alternatives will take it's place as the "must have" commodity. I can't wait until we have a strong enough alternative to destroy the need for gas...that will be a great day in history!

there is one way that your plan would work though....if during that strike of yours, we didn't drive our cars like normal and walked or rode bikes, therefore bringing the demand down, that would hurt them pretty substantially. It would be kool as fuck, but like I said, we ain't givin up our rides! Besides, my bike doesn't have subs, or air in the tires.

they wont lose a dime unless people decide to give up gas for good or lower their consumption on a daily basis, which just isn't going to happen. I don't know bout anyone else but I sure as fuck am not taking a bike around town like before I drove. That $30 billion number is falsely made up by people who don't have a grasp on economics.. Not trying to hate on you, but this is one of my more knowledgeable areas. Supply and demand will BARELY change in one day or even one week unless something happens on a massive scale, like when yesterday that oil pipe in England was repaired and the Nigeria strike ended, which allowed a MUCH greater supply into the system and will break down prices slighty soon. If your goal is to hurt OPEC, nuke Saudi Arabia or another OPEC country, or find a way to stop China from converting from bicycles and those big hats to cars.

OPEC and the gas stations would laugh if they saw this...a one day strike on gas would help their business, not hurt it, because the next day there would be a much larger demand, raising prices. The way they set prices isn't based on a few gas stations in America, hate to break it to ya....but from an economic standpoint, the whole thing is retarded. Just wait it out. Now that the fed lowered interest rates one last time, which is the reason our dollar is so weak right now, they said enough is enough. The first quarter we did better than expected, so very soon interest rates will rise and our dollar will be much more valuable...expect around $70 a barrel in the not so distant future... Everything is equalizing out.
