  1. yeah dubstep I play loud but I won't play dubstep for too long due to the highs being so harsh most the time. Are you powering your mids/highs off of an amp or headunit?

Which mixtape is that Hard in the Paint off? I believe I have the one off his Official White Label which is on Datpiff for free, the version off his Flockaveli seems to really be lacking the same bass

  2. Yeah, flat spots = clipping but remember that equipment clipping is more dangerous than audio clipping, if your settings on your equipment are good just remember to be smart with the volume knob (aka no full tilt) if you know a song has a good amount of clipping in it. Take these two songs for instance, What Up clips on the quick bass hits (like most TX music) but sound perfectly fine, the Cousin Fik on the other hand you can audibly hear the distortion, I play the Slim Thug song but def not the Cousin Fik

Peep this thread, I have some screen shots of clipped bass from Yelawolf's Radioactive album http://www.stevemead...nd-non-clipped/

  3. Bouta DL this mixtape, his last one The Statement 2 was hard as fuck

EDIT: DL'd, ok mixtape, kept 4 songs. Highs clipping is basically evident in all tracks, meh. Bass clipping is the same, you should be able to get away with it as long as you are smart with the knob, its more on the kicks that it clips from what I see in WMP. Just don't play the song Different People with The Game, audible clipping of the bass.

Piss em off does have clipping so watch out for that, Solemly Swear is 30hz @ 21db (or I guess -9db?) essentially the whole way thru, I don't see any clipping in WMP and even Audacity shows no red so its not going out of the range but I hear distortion in the vocals, maybe its just these cheap speakers at my work?

  4. Yupp, I worked at Lowes for about a year and half, got fired for my own stupidity but it was a fun job even though retail sucks ass. I started off as a Loader, basically the store bitch lmao, I would have to go get Special Orders and grab fridges/dishwashers and other purchases into the customers cars, clean the bathrooms and get the shopping carts from the parking lot (which was the worst part). After maybe a year or so I was able to move up to the Lumber/Building Materials dept which was great, organzing concrete bags on pallets and sorting lumber was tough but better than getting carts and I got to drive the forklift quite a bit, in the rain was the best haha.

Only thing that sucked was the pay, I think my final pay after 25 cent raises here and there I was at around $8, always had 38-40hrs a week though. This was back in 07-08. If all else fails get a job in security, I currently work for Securitas, pay is site/duty dependent (as in if you stay at one site or if you drive to different sites through-out your shift)
