Team Bassicks NewBorn
Skullz replied to ALPINE408's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Congrats. -
Well then they'll never play this at normal speed after decaf worked his magic on his version. The decaf version is pimp to the original version. I liked both versions but prefer the normal one more though.

Welcome and GRATZ on the new purchase. Bout to get myself something here shortly too. -
You can change the numbers in the white boxes on the right side - so lets say you have an amp efficiency of 81%, battery voltage of 14.1 and wire length of 10ft you'll enter those numbers and below that it will tell you what it all means. So for that we end up with for an 8ga wire we have 78 amps of max current and 879 watts total to play with before upgrading to a thicker wire.

Looking for/wanting to buy 91-94 Saturn sc sunroof parts
Skullz replied to Rogers's topic in Want To Buy
This site has all the yards in the data base linked so all you have to do is pick your part and location then at the bottom of the page click on the asterisked number and work your way back to page 1 since page 1 starts at the highest and the asterisk starts at the lowest. http://www.car-part.com/ -

damaged sub and need advise, pics inside
Skullz replied to chuchunesme's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Could put some jb weld in it and place that spoke on the bottom if it happens that the subs face forward instead up, if the sub is going to face up i would be hesitant to use it with it broken like that. -
Welcome, sorry for the crappy install they did on your ride. It's really not that hard to install everything yourself and be proud of what you have accomplished, just takes time and patience and you'll be well rewarded for it. EDIT: if you have problems with rain on your speakers get some of the baffles from here, you'll lose some bass from the speaker but better to have one working than not working. http://www.crutchfield.com/shopsearch/baffle.html

Skullz replied to curtdakota's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
Here ya go. http://mechman.com/store/index.php/cPath/8_1011_2848_3285_3289 EDIT: sorry that one was for the 3.7 and 4.7 engines but i'm sure he has one for ya though. -
What ohm are the speakers and what ohm load are you trying to get to? Series will double the ohm load and parallel will halve it.
-
Series, better way to do it would be speaker terminals in parallel and wires in series. EDIT: You have it both ways, one in series and one in parallel. So if you have D4's you have a 4ohm load wired now.
-
Easy solution, get rid of those and get a pair of 6x9's for the front and you'll have all the bass you need. If that isn't an option then add some 8" midbass to the doors.

Amp Problems
Skullz replied to MarineClark's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
Sounds like the electrical can't keep up and sends the amp into protect from low voltage, gonna have to monitor your voltage and see what its doing but more than likely thats where your problem lays. -

Very disappointed
Skullz replied to OcBish's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
Your not understanding the underlying problem, so no matter who you go with you'll have the same problem unless you address it. So yeah its a big concern. -
Very disappointed
Skullz replied to OcBish's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
After hearing its a honda its belt slip for sure, honda's are notorious for belt slip. You'll need to get a bracket made with another idler pulley to wrap more of the belt on it.
