  2. I stopped reading once impedance rise was being used as a suggestion to save your driver. Here's my personal advice...don't count on rise to save you. Especially if it is a daily system...where frequency will change...CONSTANTLY.

For the space you have to play with, I would keep the XL and go with a smaller amp. You have some frugal options, an AQ2200...I think skittles might still have a Crescendo 3kw for sale.

i did too. rise is only the same on burps, which is why people calculate it down and wire there amps to .35 because they know after rise it will be at 1(or there desired ohm load). but on music the ohm load constantly changes, quite quickly actually, MUSIC AND IMPEDANCE RISE SHOULD NEVER BE IN THE SAME SENTENCE.(<---except for that one)

hook a DMM up to your amps output terminals, put the DMM on ohms, play a song and watch it jump around.

makes me want to punch my computer screen when people talk about calculating box rise when they play fucking music on the systems (DDs).

  3. I don't see why they would be?

You don't see why they would be allowed or you don't see why they wouldn't be allowed. I am kind of confused by your post.

he means he cant think of any reason why they wouldnt be legal.

  4. discipline discipline discipline...

you have to show a little punishment or reward for doing whats right or wrong. when dogs pee on the floor, usually they don't know any better. it might sound dumb, but you have to try and communicate with them and treat them like human, eventually outside, potty, food, treat, etc are all apart of there vocabulary.

i have 5 dogs FYI at the moment.

  5. Man unless you are planning on losing the back seat and building a wall then I have to recommend going with 2 XL 12s and building a proper ported box that fits in your trunk instead of just trying to stuff a shit ton of subs in the trunk and having it not sound like you want. Another option is to fire the subs and port into the car and seal the trunk, THIS will yield your best results.

If you need prices on subs just shoot me a PM and ill be glad to help you out. But we are looking at about 6 weeks until the motors are back in stock for all subs.

Edgar, I don't think you realize how loud XL 12s can get.(maybe you do) I would pick 2 xl 12s over 6 low power 12s any day.

  6. Get 2 15" go ported don't force the 4 15" in shitty sealed box you won't be pleased by their performance most likely get a good design from someone on the forum build you own enclosure wood cost the same wether you build a sealed or ported enclosure you have to pm a dc rep to get pricing, prices don't get disscused publicly

    THIS^^^

  7. ok so i have 2 15" american bass xfls running off of 1 audioque 2200d

the settings on the amp are lpf half way up which is around 100hz subsonic 0 bass boost 0 and gain is almost 3/4 up

anyways my subs sound like they are bottoming out or just being clipped severly and i dont understand why

but when i turn down the lpf or gain it goes away

ive been talking to mike singer because he designed the box and has helped me alot with the build and hes thinking it could be the aero port lenght in my box

i have 4 4inch aero ports in a 6.5 cu ft box and they are 15 inches long each

so would shortening them help to stop the bottoming out? or what else could it be???

That would just raise the tuning.

put your ssf 5hz below box tuning, check your gain to see if it is right, 3/4ths seems like a lot to ME(mine is usually at 1/3).
