mine did too until I put my DC 15 in a proper ported box and at full tilt, I have no voltage drop, it amazed me at first. I'm running ~1700rms

Just one more question: I have heard mixed things about caps... Do they help / hurt / do anything? I have also heard that if you have a quality battery bank, then you don't need a capacitor; Which brings me to my next question... As a rough rule of thumb, how much battery do I need for X wattage of an amplifier?

caps are almost useless. I have used them before and they did almost nothing. If you ever need an electrical upgrade you might as well do it right by either upgrading you battery(to like XS Power, Kinetik, Shurukin, etc) or upgrade your alternator to a high output one.

If you going to run 500 watts rms you don't need electrical upgrades, I didn't do anything until about 1800 rms because that is when my voltage would drop. If it's under ~1300rms you don't really need electrical upgrades but if you go more than that look into it.

I did a budget system the right way and it was like 700, but that's with mids highs sub amp wiring and box. You don't have to have 700 like me but the more money the mo betta.

Do like an XL 15 on 1500rms with a good battery up front. 0 gauge is fine and so is big 3. And power acoustik is doo doo, that's why he said no. For an amp do like sundown, or kicker, or AQ, etc. Just not power acoustik.

If you had an oscope i guess it would be ok but the AQ is your best bet if you don't have one.

Low voltage as 13 isn't bad at all. Before my new battery(hc2400, think that's what it is), I would drop to 11.

Edit: with 200 you probably couldn't stop 2kwrms from having voltage issues. Only thing close to that price would be a HO alt for like 280 that would be 220 amps.
