  1. i used the factory specs for my two that i shoe horned into my mustang. im really impressed with them. i had to stick with what alpine recomended because of space limitations. i had to build two seperate boxes so i could get them in the trunk. i have to say its very nice. i thought the port area was a bit small but im not getting any port noise off of either of them.
  2. no one has this old RF 2 channel laying around collecting dust???
  3. im looking for a rockford T500.2
  4. well i will have to look into these sa12's
  5. ill have to check to see if we have deal around here. how do you think they stack up against the rockford T1's?
  6. how much do they run? where is a good place to buy them?
  7. what is the ideal box for them? ported or sealed and what size?
  8. will they be happy with 500 rms? i dont plan on upgrading the amp anytime soon.
  9. well my budget is around 200-300 or so. i've got an alpine type R that i love already but that one is not going in the mustang. box design is not ment for that specific car. not to mention its an 04 model and only rated at around 300 watts. the rockford, well the front stage is the new power series the anp is also the power series. so it was more of a continuation of the theam...lol the specs on the Fi's have me curious as to their abilities. im open to possibilities i guess. again tho its getting crammed into a mustang. so a huge box is out of the question. and i'd like to have some trunk left...lol im going to be maxed at around 2cu ft. i'll know more about exact space in a bit.
  10. okay so here is what im working with. 2000 mustang coupe, equipment, rockford T500-2. i know the amp is large for a 500 watt sub but i have it and ii looks damn good in a black car. so what i am trying to decide is what sub will be happier in the set up. i want to run a single 12 as to save weight. im looking into either a rockford T1 i know they are rated at 600 on last years model. an Fi SSD rated at 800 so it would be a little under powered. or an alpine type R. planned on using a ported box. i listen to all types of music and i love good sound and hard hitting bass.
  11. i'd love to see that i have a 73 f250
  12. it only happens when i hit the stops when i turn right. my pitman arm in on the outside of the frame rail so when i turn right it moves back twords the cab and right into the side bitters. all the dana 44's were like that on the old high boys. im going to see if i can "fix" this when i tear the cab off this coming spring. if i can't its not the end of the world. as far as the beats go i dont have anything in it right now. im torn between doing a killer blow through, or very simple. right now i just love the sound of the well built FE motor i have under the hood.
  13. sorry mug grapplers...and i love them. the only down side is they are loud when rolling down the road.
  14. your going to need a full lift. the boggers have a mean side bit to them. i have 35x12.50x18 nitto mud grabbers and the side bitters on them hit my steering arm when i turn hard right. any other 35 would not hit like these do. tire selection is a big part in what size you can run. big side bitters mean your going to be more likely to rub something.
  15. yeah you are drawing way way too much currant. sounds like you are on the verge of catching something on fire there. make sure you dont have any shorts to ground or something. was the fuse blown or anything like that?
  16. it just goes to show that a few idiots are going to ruin it for the rest of us. yeah i'll admit when i was younger i was stupid and cranked my system up. but i never had it up after 9pm. i'll have to admit i hate it when someone pulls up to my neighbors house at all hrs of the night with the system on full blast. if they were just driving by i dont even notice...but when they sit there for a couple min im just like come on man. its all about being curtious to other people. its those who dont care that are causing the problems for everyone else. where i live now i dont even know if we have any laws on the books for noise ordinaces, concidering we have a major union pacific rail depot in town. i live less than 1/4 mile from it. you want to hear some noise...lol
  17. this was a build i did for a friend on his 75 chevy c-10. he liked the square look for the console, so i kept him happy. the truck is set up with shaved door handles, keyless door poppers, line locks, ratchet shifter 4:10 gears with detroit tru-trac, and a warmed up 350 that is polished & pretty. he had some older gear he wanted to put in the truck, so its all "old school" gear. its not complete as of yet. he pulled it all back out to redo the seat brakets, i also mounted a plexi panel and painted it black to mount the switches for all the goodies he has on his truck. ill post more if anyone wants to see more of it?
  18. thanks guys. i have another build i am posting on a buddys 1975 chevy truck. im just not all that sure if i like my doors. thinking about glassing the bottom half of the door. i also dont really care for the sub. its a good SQ sub. but...i just want something with a bit more boom.
  19. not sure if i like the way i have to doors for now... but im pretty much done for the winter as i get to work in the great out doors.
  20. hmmm...i could fit a t2000-1bd. im designing a box right now...if i did 2 ports, one on each side, vs 1 in the center i could mount it between the 2 subs...
  21. okay here is my problem...i am designing a box right now...and i think i hit a problem. i have an issue with height, i have only 17" of useable height, that being said, i am trying to fit 2 18" bl's i am planing on tilting the front face of the box to fit the 18. the big issue i have is if i do this then i may not be able to reach the bottom screw to mount the damn thing... i figue i'll have to kick the bottom of the face of the box in about 10" from the front. so my box would be 36" deep on top and 26" deep on bottom. that should allow the 18" sub to fit. but, then the bottom screw might not go in, i could rotate the sub a few degrees so that its not straight, the logo that is...if my math is wrong on this please feel free to tell me. now if i go 32" wide i shold have just under 6cuft per sub. using 2 seperate boxes... i'll gladly take any help on this. i have at most 64" side to side 36" front to back. 17" top to bottom. these are external diamensions.
  22. true, however i am mounting them into a reg cab truck. if i went with a single large am i'd need to mount it in the bed of the truck, im doing a blow through, and im a bit worried about security. if i use smaller amps i can mount them in the cab of the truck. much harder to steal...that is the only reason im thinking about the smaller amps...i know the t5002 are a couple years old but they can still be bough fairly inexpensive.
  23. so what would be a better choice in a multi amp set up? run 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-1bd, or 2 T1000-1bd? they both put out the same power, but the big diff i see is the bass boost settings. i do have a third option i already have a couple T5002 so do i get 2 more? they are going to be pushing 2 Fi bl 18's
  24. that is really an interesting design it seems. more of a force meter rather than a sound meter...kind of the same principle as an electric scale i would assume. so they arn't directly picking up volume, but using more of a computer program to calculate a volume level. its a very good idea, due to the fact mics would distort far easier...
