Alright... I'm not sure what the terms for the parts of the tinsel lead are but basically the jacket over the inner part is what is frayed between terminals and into the basket. The inner part is still held pretty strong, the fraying just through up a ton of red flags... I don't know if that makes a difference in your diagnostics or not. So, was this more of a clipped signal, rough break in, or playing low low music type of thing if you had to take a guess?

Is there any quick temporary fix i can do before i put it in the new box? And any estimation on life left on this thing? Assuming zero clip.

I see... Well, I have the first competition of the season next weekend, i guess I'll have to see if she holds out and baby her until then. I'm no master solderer or have spare leads laying around. I've been real careful with it in the 4 weeks of ownership. I guess after discovering Bigpimpin's Let My Beat Pound last week i've been a bit antsy with the bass knob. So you're thinking recone in the future is about my only option?

Dual tinsel leads to each terminal. So the four on the one side are messed up, the four on the other are fine.

I just took my new level 4xl out of my first box to put into my new one and saw that the one sides leads are all effed up! What happened? Was it getting too hot? I don't know how reliable it is to use it in competition next weekend... Help! Both leads from that side are effed, the other side is fine...

What kind of budget are you looking at for the sub/sub and amp?

Are you really planning to run 4k through it daily? What amplifier? Elecrical? Experience?

I have two Hifonics BXi1610d's sitting at my house for a friend. I've been searching the classifieds here, caco, realm, ssa, ca, etc. and I am having trouble finding some good candidates for the price. Some that I have came across have been AA Havocs, Level 4's, and some bl's. But problem being, they have all been d1's for sale! Basically, I'm sitting on a $500.00 budget, any suggestions or ideas let me know! Side note, amplifiers are rated at 1600rms @ 1-ohm. I understand we will more than likely not see 1600, so again. i'm open to suggestions...

False. But price-quality, stick with AQ. Get at least a good secondary battery, i'm running my BXi2010d @ 1-ohm off of an HC1800 in the rear with stock battery and alt. up front, my voltage drops to 14.0 at full tilt on the most current consuming songs while driving, typically though I run at 14.4-14.6 on 90% of my music. Sitting still i can run full tilt for a while before dropping below 13.8. Basically, you'll be fine running 2k as long as you are smart about it, and don't sit idle for an hour at full tilt dishing out demos. There is always room to upgrade in the future once you get the cash. Theres no shame in not doing everything 110% "ideal" from the get-go, just like I said though, read up, get informed, and be smart about it.

You also have to factor in the thickness of the wood. Boomin, get us some pictures, and take some measurements. Box dimensions, wood thickness, double baffled? Port opening height/width/depth. We can figure out tuning and give you a little better of an idea as to how anything will sound in it.

So the hoe is now... the perfect mixture of gorgeous and badass! The self leveling is sick! It's like a whole new whip!
