the port alone will pry take up more than 1/2 cube though you would think?

i got 3.55 cubes, but if thats for a ported enclosure and before displacement then i think it might be a bit small IMO

now that sounds like work EDIT: do you use 3/4 mdf or .75???

you should see all of the sensless drawings i hhave on paper for many different driver sizes and vehicles dimensions, i get bored easy

man, i have always calculated all of my measurements from the outside of the enclosure when i'm first coming up with an idea. i use a program to do the final design like on JL's website when it comes down to the build though.

yeah, i can do the same thing on the JL calculator using 1in, but i want to learn how to do it with an in hand calculator. i appreciate that link though. i can find other uses for that

but how could it be the same when you are adding an extra 1/4in. of wood, not box volume on each side of the box? if i'm correct that wouuld give you a false calculation

okay, so i know when using 3/4 that you divide by 1728 to give you the total cubes, but what about 1in mdf when using all external measurements and how did you come up with that number?

i would turn set your gain at 1/4 max and turn the bass eq down a bit. see if that works out for you. does the amp slowelly shut down or does it just shutdown instantly?

i agree with ENELLZ on this one. it def. sounds like feedback through your rca's or a grounding issue.

IMO Infinity Kappas are some really nice comps. they play smooth and they come in 2ohm versions so you don't need to buy a big amp.

the box is about 3 cubes per sub and around 30-35hz, i can't really remember the tuning FQ of the box. we built it originally for my brothers Type R's. i'm gonna build a new box soon when i get my new RF T2500 EDIT: Stroker Pros have the big bubble dust cap

check to see if you have a good ground too. make sure all the paint is removed from the mounting location also

what do you have the gain on your amp set at? sinnce your running a 5v pre amp you should have your amp gain set no higher than 1/4 of the way up.

he either has it at 4 or 2ohms so it shouldn't mess with the amp. i'm thinking it's where he has the amp sitting maybe?
