  1. Damn Steve, that turn out real nice. Did you thought about changing the back lighting to a soft blue to match the vm1 & tm1 leds lighting?
  2. Damn Steve, that great that your son just absorb the knowledge you have and doing all the work himself. I have two boys and can't get them to watch and learn for 10 minutes. Anyway nice clean work he's doing, keep up the good work dad.
  3. somehow, i doubt you own or have used a DD-1. If for some reason i am wrong, and usually i am not, than you probably did not do it right. "ummm i left it at zero"...LOL what? Anyone that uses 0db tracks at the amplifier level shouldn't have any problem with overpowering their subwoofers if they are properly matched (in specs) to the amp they are hooked up to. Even though i don't believe you know what i am talking about, i just want to point that out in case somehow i am wrong. But i doubt it. Yes I do own a DD 1, and the gains are set on point. When said set it on zero I meant I set my amp using the -0dB.
  4. You physically cant just buy looking at it through a vent hole on the woofer. You can easily tell upon building the woofer or if your cutting it apart for a recone. At those 2 times you can easily count the layers of windings around the former. The 8layer coil will usually be a little bit thicker due to it having twice the layers of wire wrapped around it. But this is not always true because sometimes it maybe 8 layers with a thinner gauge material making the outside diameter pretty close to the 4 layer coil with the heavier gauge aluminum wrapped around it. Oookay!
  5. More than likely yes, because having a level 4 woofer with a level 3 coil put into is actually pointless. Im pretty sure the level 3 coil is weaker than the level 4 coil so down grading a level 4 with a level 3 coil is unheard of.Now putting a level 4 coil into a level 3 motor would possibly give you better power handling and handle a little more abuse if the cooling is up to the job on the level 3 motor, which Im sure it is. So if anything you have a level 3 woofer with a level 4 coil, maybe an added spider to make a tad stiffer suspension. Level 3m2 4 layer round wire coilLevel 4m2 8 layer flat wound coil l don't understand, that how you tell the difference between the coils?

  7. When I order it, my dealer suggested that go to a level 3 sub and do a level 4 on the motor. At first I was gonna do level 2 and was gonna upgade the sub later. so you have a level 4 motor with level 3 coils. what kind of DC dealer would do that? LOL its always supposed to be the opposite. level 3 motor with level 4 coils. Not putting my dealer down, cause they have help me out a bit. Maybe he told me that, but i have understand it wrong. So ya'll telling me that I have a level 3 with level 4 coil suppose to be?
  8. My box is tune to about 34hz and the only time that I getting smelling them is when I put something on that really got so drop.should I be kinda concern about them heating up or that one of those thing that gonna happen, because original had two amp on one sub when i first install them.
  9. dont do that lol how new are the subsI had the for two years now, but don't really get a chance to turn them up until I head out to the country side.

  11. I think I left it at zero, so if I drop it a bit I'll be okay?
  12. That's what I use or maybe I did it wrong idk. Did you follow the instructions step by step? Which tone did you use? -5,-10,-15?
  13. I have two DC level 3 10" with a upgrade level 4 motor upgrade now I have two RF P500.2 pushing them. Everytime when I crank it up and a song is playing with alot of bass I smell the coil just heating up in the box, I ask my local audio store why its doing that; he told me that I wasn't getting enough Voltage and that they are like starving. Now i have upgrade my alt. And install another battery and still getting the same problem WTH!
  14. Damn Steve, I love how the trunk lid turn out.. you out done yourself again bro I love all your builds.
  15. I bought a Fi SSD 10" back in November of last year and wanted to get another one, but now they don't have the parts to even build one. I'm looking for one maybe use and at a good price.
  16. Man I would love to hear how that turn out, cuz I wannna do my setup like that.
  17. What is that box tune to? I wanna build my box something like that but firing up inside the rear deck of the cab.
  18. The 4 channel would be for my highs and mids, so which one I get the sub amp would be the same.
