Well its at my buddys house now in his garage (more tools at our disposal) i am going to stay the night over there tomorrow and finish it up and hopefully be wangin this weekend. All i got left to do is attach the port and put on the top. Then cut out the holes and seal it all up. Good as gold. EDIT technically tonight for me as i am pulling a all nighter and its 4 am fri morning. lol

Yea thats what i figured. Also that box has holes in it where is looked like someone got board and went at it with a drill bit a couple times. Also the sub on the right does not mount flush to the wood and leaks air like a mother. Oh yeah the new box will take up just over half of my cargo area, so compared to that they is a HUGE size difference.

But you can shoot for the alpine to i can pretty much GUARANTEE it has more features. This is just a plain ol radio.

Yea thats what i have planned so far all i have left is attach the port and the top, cut out the sub holes and seal it with some caulk. Ill post pics after then. Still undecided as to paint or carpet it.

Oh okay cool cool. Well like i said i would look here first. Like you are doing now. If you dont have any luck, hit up craigslist and ebay. As far as stereo brands alpine is always a winner. Shit i got a kenwood deck that costed me under $100 new and it does teh job.

Well please tell me you have some sort of amp. And there are plenty of people on here that are selling good "used" stereos that are like new. Of course anything sold on here will have at least one set of RCA pre-outs for subs.

For 6k you can get just about anything resonable. My step dad just got a 1997 s-10 with 50k miles, real nice for 2k so i mean just have to look. Best thing to do is keep a eye out while driving around town. People always are driving around with 4-sale signs in the window, and there is always car sitting in parking lots during the day with 4-sale signs in the window. That and craiglist.org is a good place also

You could but depending on your box size its going to take a shit ton of paint, cuz MDF absorbs most of the paint. I have always have better luck putting a coat (or 2) of primer on first. As far as it degrading the performance of the speakers, i really dont see that happening. But that is just my .02
