  1. Product: i have 2 Re HC reconed to a 18in, both D1 with integrated tensils. the sub on the right is def. a HC, but the sub on the left, according to usampfreak, it is a Re HC Specs: cosmetic: 8/10 performance 10/10. i had them wired to .5 on a hifonics brutus 2010. they get pretty loud and low as well with their excursion. they are rated for 1500 rms, but i was pushing 2k rms on them with no problems. price: $250 shipped each. or $450 for both plus shipping and for the pics, here they are:
  2. it can be reconed through fi car audio, or fixmyspeaker.com. take some measurements of the spider landing and vent pole when you take it apart.
  3. but i only got 1 hifonics brutus 2010d amp with 2 re hc to play with. after displacement, i assume i get around 13-12 cu ft out of 15 cu ft. and each sub should have at least 4-5 cu ft, or maybe but maybe even 6 cu ft each. you guys think that my subs will suffocate? edit: can anyone make a design for me (sorry, got no monies) lol
  4. are you SURE about that? i got 15 cu ft to play with before displacement.
  5. i would love to get my hands on some of those sexy smds 18, but i need to upgrade like my WHOLE set up. from alt to amp. but the thing about is that the smd height is pretty tall. how tall are those subs? hhmm......i might save up that much to get them. i feel tempting to sell my ps3, my 2 re hc 18s, my amp, and my double din, just for 1 smd 18. lol
  6. i know what a aero port kinda looks like, but i havent studied about it. anyone got a link so i can read up on it?
  7. also one thing to input. some ppl have good luck with a amp, and some dont. right now, i have a hifonics bxi 2010d that is pushing my re hc 18(with fi soft parts) and lil did i know, i have it wired to .5 ohm (d1 voice coil wired in parallel). i been running it like that for 2 months i think and still havent gotten any issues with the amp. of course my lights dim since i havent upgraded my electricals. but the point im trying to come across is that even from a brand that was known to be "crappy", to me, it holds up pretty good. you can check online and that same amp i have will cost around $200 starting, but sometimes the cheap priced amps can be the best bang for your buck.
  8. all i know of is the efficiency of the amp. some amps that says 1500 watts may only put out 1400 or less. sundown is a bit underrated, of i what i read. from sundown, audioque, rockford fosgate, incriminator, stetsom, any brands known on forums are built for quality. on your amp, whats the rating of rms that puts out?
  9. thats what i was think about. my friend who is going to help me making the box told me that he will make cuts of the mdf to be place on top of the well, and have a piece of the wood from the sides to the base of the box so it wont leak. some how this is going to be tricky, and i will post pics of how it turns out (FaiL or WIN) edit: a piece of mdf being bend alongside with the well that will have the well covered from the inside of the box.
  10. dam, that was fast reply. hopefully the subs wont suffocate with the tight space i got in the back. and also, the measurements i gotten through torre's calculator was 16.06 cu ft in gross volume, would anyone help with the net volume after displacement? im not good on making calculations, and would want 1 port i believe and some bracing as well. if anyone wants to add port walls, by all means. i just want to build a box with some poundage (anything to be heard or felt) lol
  11. i took some measurements for my cargo space in my 2002 nissan xterra, and i just wanted to know if 2 18's powered by 1 hifonics 2010d will fit in the back of the car? the actual measurements are height: 22in width: 49in depth: 29in this pic is the measurements between the wheel well, but i decided to make the box completely covering the well. and also, would anyone help me out on the measurement of the port (like what will be the right measurements i will input of the port, just 1 port btw) thanks
  12. need 2 resources that explains about multi channel amp and mono amps. need a legit website, no wiki. ill be looking for 1 too. anyone know of few websites? edit: i found a website that explains what a mono amplifier is (ehow, which the story is written by some guy), now need to find one for the multi channel amp.
  13. come on ppl. i know there is someone out there that knows at least what the wire is connected to. edit:found the fuse. now got the tunes playing in my car. thanks for the ppl who tried.
  14. help. want to have some tunes in my car
  15. nothing on the acc. had the car on, didnt used a dmm because i forgot to buy batteries for it(FTL), but had a circuit tester, but it didnt read any power. is the acc part of the ignition or something? im not big on car electricals so you guys can tell. lol
  16. just bought one from my job. going to do that in a min. whats weird is that not even my head rest monitors are getting any power at all. so there must be a short somewhere. edit: car is a 2002 nissan xterra
  17. as the titles says, need to find the location of the fuse. on the head unit, there 3 three wires, one yellow(permanent), black(ground), and red(12v acc), i got power from the yellow(which i found the fuse location and replaced it because it pop under audio), and still cant find the fuse for acc. anyone help me? im dying for beat. lol
  18. lol, i think i had to write about that one before. what i remember, the media always manipulate the audience with the news stories about celebrities. like tiger woods, the media focused on him for like what, few months straight, and make him feel like OJ(we all know he did and who he hired) lol
  19. i explained the ohm(resistance) in a amp, clipping(distortion that can cause damage to the amp and/or sub). in the intro, i explain the multi ch. amp(what speakers are used for) and also the mono amp. im getting started on the clarity paragraph on how the h/u can cause distortion to the speakers because the low and high frequency are played at the same time, and when the multi ch. amp is connected to the door speakers, it minimizes the distortion by the built in crossover can help the door speakers play the highs rather than the lows. thanks for the help because now i got an idea of what to write in the essay.
  20. anyone can contribute. im doing research too.
  21. how about 2000 watss rms, EACH WOOFER, and a bigger enclosure, seats down, the port facing the front, and maybe you get some where.....i think.
  22. thanks, i started on my intro of the paragraph, which explains what a multichannel amp and a mono amp is. just the way to describe them in their use is pretty difficult to explain. its like i can show it, but cant tell it. lol
