i will have the same on my 1997 burb witch is the same as your truck almost dual 300 amp iraggi alts and two D3400 in my suburban this is in my 2007 tahoe though and nothing except the stock electronics will be ran off the stock batt the D3400 will run a single AQ2200D and that will be the only amp in the truck (for now) so i think doing the big three on only the D3400 will be fine as thats the only batt running the amp i just want some opinions the stock batt is up by they fire wall and will be a major PITA to do the big three on

i was asking him this two because i have two runs of the back of my alt to two seperat batts with no problems so im wondering too

yes the stock battery is up by the firewall and is gunna be a pain in the ass to work with why do you say it could fry the alt? puttin to much stress on a stock alt? on my burban i have two runs of 1/0 coming of the back of my alt one two each of my D3400 under the hood with no problems (but its a 300 amp alt.. )

Alright So i Got a 2007 tahoe and it has a second battery tray where i will be putting a D3400 im gunna be dooing a simple build in it with (4) DC level 2 8"s on a AQ2200D It has a stock 160 amp alt my question is do yal think i should do the big three to both? the Amps power/ground will come straight off the D3400 The vehicle has RVC none of the system will be ran off the stock batt so i dont think i need to do the big three too it

oh shit for real now i feel like a total dumb ass were should i have posted this? theres a subwoofer/enclosure section go post it in there i have no experience with walls but someone will chime in and help ya

i would spend the extra $50 for the AQ1200D brand new with a warranty and the clip light comes in handy

i use the kolossus flexs in my truck its good stuff my buddy had there battery terminals and the fuse holder with three mini ANL fuses and i didnt like either..

ive got one XL 18" paid for and ill have the second paid for this week i cant wait to have my first DC subs

Yeah for the 14v side of things it will have a dedicated alt just for the XS 14v batteries. I am going to get one with an adjustable regulator to handle this. I already have a HO alt that I am gonna use for the 12v side of things. sounds like you should be good to go i would contact someone that has ran seperate systems about the grounds just to be 100% positive..

or some xs power 14 volt batts or kinetic ive thought about doing this in my tahoe keep the stock location alt running every thing in the truck and your mids and high amps then the second alt externally regulated and charging at 16-16.5 volts Pretty much what I am wanting to do. I know physically hooking it up is nothing, i know how to do that. I guess I am more interested in whether there will be or could be any ill effects from running two different voltages. The only common points will be the grounds. ive seen it done so it shouldnt be a problem i dont know if the common grounds will be a problem though a guy on you tube (tuffguy40) is runnin a seperate 16 volt system if you wanna check him out

thanks for the feed back guys yea i figured it was because the weekend just wanting to make sure as its my first order there and cloe to a $500 one at that also it was a preloaded visa gift card but it should be like a credit cared and have no problems
