  1. I'm gonna say it's a preference lol. I like slot ports...
  2. LOL, no I had my friend do it but I watched, but I totally get you now. And my HU came with a wiring harness and all the wire info was on the HU itself so it wasn't that difficult for me to see on mine but without a harness I'd be lost lol. Like I said id just hook it up to a cig lighter (if those harnesses in n8ball's link dont work) but I think you would need a small fuse? Idk but good luck with that though. Btw love your rims n8ball.
  3. LOL, how is your HU powered? Is it not by the power cord that powered the original HU? edit: I guess I should ask this question first, lol, does the power cord itself turn the HU on and off? Or is there a different cord in the wiring harness for that?
  4. Why wouldn't the new HU turn off and on with the car if it's hooked up to the old power cord?
  5. lol im gonna guess you are... my suggestion is kinda crazy and idk if it can be done for a HU but this is how i hooked my LEDGLOW lights up: i wired the on/off to go to the 12V cigarette lighter socket so it turned on and off with the car obviously... i think u mite need another fuse for that tho... just a suggestion, like i said idk how it'd work with a HU, good luck tho
  6. and i was hoping i could bridge two because im getting 2 12" RE audio SEX12D2's ... but i guess ill save up more for an amp too... what i need to look for is a 2 ohm stable bridgeable amp correct?
  7. lol how do u raise it to 8 ohms lol and my box is the L vent (i guess thats what they call it idk) so putting one up would be bad because then itd be in 4 cF AND the amp can push one speaker with 4 ohms in bridged mode... what i dont understand is why two 4 ohm loads become a 2 ohm load on the amp...
  8. and what would happen if i bridged the two anyway...? or what would happen if u put a 2 ohm load on a 4 ohm load amp?
  9. damn... o well swore it said bridgeable but failed to read the fine print lol thanks
  10. yea it is... lol i understand it says "NO!" but therse not another way to wire it?
  11. does this mean i cant bridge it... since itll have a 2 ohm load bridged...
  12. The "suitable" speaker impedance is 4 - 8 ohms when bridging...
  13. ok sorry i dont have a camera, other than my phone and its too dark outside for that plus my neighbors already called the cops tonite so im done with the car till morning but heres a diagram to help u get it kinda lol It wont let me upload but heres a link
  14. i have two and theres a "BTL" label over one pos and one neg input on the amp but i have 4 cords... can i just connect both pos and both neg from both speakers to the pos and neg labeled "BTL"
  15. I have two MTX Terminators and FINALLY got my Sony 1400 watt amp. The amp is bridgeable, but I have no idea how to do this. Any help?
  16. i have a vented port didnt really get the whole tube port and the vented just seemed a lot easier... my friend has a tube port and i really cant tell the difference but maybe someone can lol idk
  17. ok my draw up was: (for the 5500's) W:40" H:20" D:15" using 1" thick wood = 5.14 cF Port: W:3" H:18" Tuned to 33Hz = Port length of 20" (so back 10" and over 10") The way i built my box was having both subwoofers in the same "chamber" and one port... hopefully that helps lol
