Ok well i found the problem. its the T shaped vacuum grommet? i guess you would call it. it has a split in it and is leaking air. anyone know where to find one at? heres a picture

i've noticed that sometimes when i put my car in drive it will shut off. also that if i pump the brakes it will either shut off or the rpms will drop down really low. is that a vacuum problem?
