  1. playing with it. the lowest sensitivity reading is at 58 volts. dont know if that means anything.
  2. i was just about to ask you if you would sampo on your system i hope that scope doest fry any short out back to the amp. it loads at 500k ohm hopefully it doesnt fry those little leads that it comes with.
  3. accuracy as in how fast it reads and how easy it is to see the wave. i doubt any scope no matter how shitty would show a clean audio signal clipped or vise versa. a sine wave is the simplest task for a oscope. im just worried if it can take high voltage input. i also bought a scope for my computer but im not daring to hook it up to a big amp yet.
  4. FUNNY GUY!!! yes... no matter how well you tune up it wont help shit if the cars not started. subs go POOF!!!
  5. im not to anal about the accuracy for tuning stereos. i just want to see the wave clipping... just dont want to hurt anything testing.
  6. i think itll be ok on my highs amp but thats a ton of volts coming from a sub amp. i wouldnt care about blowing the nano. would suck if i blew my amp from this thing.
  7. talking about this guy http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130395425675&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT i picked one up for shits and giggles but im not to sure about putting this on my 11k2d. im just wondering if anyone here played with this scope on big amps yet.
  8. very very nice. another DC boto jerker indeed
  9. im building my box on the small side due to space restrictions. i want to get my port to 16 per cf. but no way can i get there without stuffing. would like your guys thoughts on stuffing ported boxes. ive only stuffed sealed boxes. edit: i want to stuff the box with poly fill to get the subs to see a larger enclosure but dont know how it will react in a ported enclosure.
  10. and a remote wire or whatever way you want to turn it on.
  11. depending on how big the box is, power your using and what freq you want to produce. depending on what subs your using. from what ive seen at rms typical results are: larger ports peak higher but peaks steeper larger boxes pulls the band to lower freqs (to a point) smaller ports are easier to generate lower freqs again this is what ive noticed but different subs will yield different results. atomic apx is one of those that threw me off. i got better results with a large box with smaller ports vs. smaller box with larger ports overpowering it.
  12. good to know. im shooting for 5-5.5 because of space restraints. did you try shrinking your ports? with bigger boxes i found going smaller on the port, around 10-12 per gave me better results to the ear and meter.
  13. youve said on other threads to go 5.5 on bigger power??? ive got bashed for saying go 8 cubes with a lvl5 18. how do you like yours with that much power going to it? i also just picked up 4 lvl5 18s
  14. i dont see a video... ahh... took forever to load.
  15. did you use a spacer to load on the coil?
  16. nutts as in tear the car apart and spend a whole lot of time and money into something i dont have time to waste on. again the electrical thing is just a goal of mine to hit before i do up it. id hate to just build just to max it out at the first try. then what??? what will i do after that??? just rip it apart and move on? i like these little goals and challenges for myself.
  17. WxHxD 49x25x39 i was thinking port either in the middle or sides. i dont know what to use to post pics here but heres my buid from another site: http://www.hawaiicaraudio.com/hca/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=4512&sid=3e07898c9473720991bdd1e48a253399
  18. at idle its around 13. i havent had the amp go below 11.8 even during burp. i know i could do a lot better with electicals, dampening. its kind of a challenge to myself not to do any of those upgrades. i just want to see my gains through enclosures before i get nutts on this project. i prefer my port back but if i run 4 18s the port would be right on the tailgate.
  19. how the hell does his glass stay intact?!? congrats!
  20. i dont think your subs gonna fit with that port...
  21. 01 sequoia. my goal i gotta hit before this build is at least 150 below 40hz using: -2x 15s apx -stetsom 11k2d -6 blue tops 1 red under the hood -stock electrics -NO big 3 -NO deadening -below the window line -sealed at the dash best so far below 40 is 149.1 at 38hz im sure my next box will be well in the 50s using that set up my next build is going to be something i wont need to touch for a while. going subs up port up below the window line till i decide to wall... gonna work on electrical while the 18s are in.
  22. if this aint loud enough for daily im gonna shoot myself.
  23. did you meter on the lvl 5?
