The DC Sub Levels.....
Robert8252 replied to Robert8252's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
I always know which they are referring to. Just didn't know if that's what it actually is a lvl4xl or just a xl. I know it came out after the 4 and 5 and that's why it got the xl title just didn't know. -
Alright. Just nitpicking here because I see it so much. The different levels of subs. Isn't it actually.... Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 XL Level 5 And soon to be Level 6? I just see so many people calling the XL a Level 4XL all the time and was wondering if this is the correct term or if it is actually a DC XL with no level or 4 to its name? I'll stfu now but just wanted to know? lol

First off sorry mods if this is the wrong section. I swore there was a site support section but I've looked 5 times and can't find one. On my iPhone the mobile version of the site works fine, and if I switch it to full site it works just fine and the layout is how it suppose to be. But as soon as I get home and get on my computer the main page of the forum is all weird and not layed out correctly. All of the things that should be on the side bar and header are one by one all the way down the middle of the page until I get over half way down when it finally gets me to the recent post and the rest of the forum. I've triple checked all of my monitor and browser display settings and can not figure this out. Any advice? I'm using Firefox

DC(I think rusty) told me not to exceed 5k on two XLs and that any thing more go the LVl 5s but never really specified or talked about box space. I didn't know if what he meant by that was that each sub with 2500 would still be safely usable within the advertised specs or not. So if it is and can safely handle the 2200 with out an issue I'd like to go as big as possible for the one sub to get the most out of it.

I know recommended and ideal volume for regular use but wanted to know if I was going to be over enough with power box space would critical or if I could still go 4^ft and be just fine. I'll ask rusty when I order what he says just wondering if anyone has actually been close with this setup and their opinion on box space for power

In the end I'll have 2 15" dc XLs each running on there own AQ2200. I don't have the funds to do the complete build this year but can get one sub, amp, and the electrical to handle one so that's what I'm doing. My question is though since I'll be running the 1 15 on 2200+rms in a daily what volume would be a safe starting point for the sub. It's only rated at 1500 but we all know it can handle more but I didn't know if with that power I need to stay closer to 3^ft after displacement or would I actually want to go smaller closer to 2.7-9 to handle the extra power without bottoming the sub out?

If this was in the "what law have you broke today" you would own. Nice vids. Need to mount a FPV cam on the windshield -
Definately sounds like the amp then. Definately buy the AQs. Order me one or two while your there.
-
Did you try just one sub on the amp or wire it high as hell of a impedance 8ohms or however you can wire you subs up. Just see if it is not able to produce power at low imp. Just one more thing to try :-/ take it you don't have another amp or a friends amp to use to try?
-
If your wanting the Aq anyways then definately go for it. Get the cliff fixed correctly and sell it for what you can.
-
Did you get your alt tested just to be safe? It is $778 so if that's the only thing you haven't tested I would get that done. But I do say buy em and post results and pics because I'm thinks of going with two AQ2200s instead of a 3500 so let me know how they do at 2ohms strapped

That is fucking awesome.

Straight from there website A link to their site and my proof of infinity mid bass The tweeters are harsh compared to some but I like it like that. If anything I may add a 8" just for midbass to gain a little more but honestly the Kappas sound good to me. My brother had some of their reference series and I like the sound of kappas better. Not trying to get off topic just trying to cover all that was said here. I will be running my kappas off of a AQ90.4 which does 90rms @4ohms and 120rms @2ohms I think. I'm planning on the resistance being there to work out perfect and get a solid 90rms. I know there is a user on here running 2 or 3 sets of infinitys and I'm sure on a amplifier but I don't remember who he is cause he would be worth asking about wattage headroom.

I've had a old motorized face one when the whole color changing display started how ever many years ago. Like 7 or 8? And it's still being used by a friend. I just recently had a KVT-617 I think flipout. 4 years old. Still being used and just sold to a guy for $200. Just bought the new one this week. My brother has a kenwood in his truck. Same one for about 3 years now. Pioneer before for about 2 years. A kenwood before that though. Actually think he was using the kenwood I said is almost 8 years old before. It's been more then around the block a few times. I have nothing bad about pioneer or kenwood but personally I like kenwoods sound better. Just a little richer IMO

I sadly can't use a double din in my car but if I could this would be my only choice. I love the looks of this radio so much. It's just fricken beautiful. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/DVD-Receivers/AVH-P4200DVD No matter what you go with try to find one with 3 sets of 4v+ RCA outputs and atleast a 5 band EQ if possible. Kenwood, pioneer, alpine, and clarion all make great HU and any brand you go with should be a good choice. Personally kenwood is my first choice and pioneer second. Think I've had 7 HU and 3 have been kenwood and 3 were pioneers. One was a Cadence. And newest just installed today was the Kenwood x994 I linked in my first post.
