  1. Memphis Mojo MCD4kW is around that price at dealer cost and I would choose that over the Autotek personally.
  2. Nice build man. The neon in the tubes does look like a bar like some Hypnotic or somethin. Great price that's cool you got it for "educational purposes".
  3. Yeah those names do get confusing but they are just the build of the cores within the processor lines. They have different abilities for overclocking. But for instance sometimes they vary in specs, I remember when the Athlon XPs were out and they changed from the Palomino core to the Thoroughbred then the Barton. The difference in those was the jump in L2 cache which was higher on the Barton, and the front side bus speed.
  4. I do too but not enough to buy an HD TV to take advantage of the latest consoles. I'm more of a FPS gamer so I like the mouse and keyboard.
  5. Connect them to the -3dB setting on the crossover. They are getting too much power. When you say the amp is only turned up half way you have to account for the pre-out voltage on your headunit. So halfway could mean at full power for the comps and if the amp can supply more they could be getting more than they need. My tweeters do the same thing If set the gains too high. It's called tweeter protection; consider yourself lucky they have that ability and didn't blow.
  6. That is true, but I was just making a point because Xbox 360 and dual cores were mentioned. Just making sure everyone knew its processing power. I gave up on consoles after buying a PS2 the first day they came out. CPU's > Consoles any day.
  7. The 360 uses triple 3.2ghz cores though so they aren't too far off from eachother.
  8. Very good point Megalo. Hopefully they will develope a more efficient way on the new dual processor boards to use power because that is a huge concern. I'll be danged If I have to spend $300+ on a power supply double the power of current ones. I didn't think processors alone ate up power as much as IDE devices or video cards.
  9. Just wait till December and buy 2 Athlon FX-74's for quad-core operation if you want to go AMD. Things will be interesting between Intel and AMD then even though Intel beats them to the punch a little earlier.
