ok first of all just get rid of the cap its pointless it just looks cool for show and if there is a ground problem i would get a ground loop isolator and makes sure that your ground is on the frame and the paint is sanded to get a metal to metal contact and if you do all that it should eliminate the noise and if you don't want to bolt a hole in the frame i would just run a power wire right up to the battery ground terminal to get that best ground

i just wanted to try it out because rusty said that has never been done before but it would fit. i'm kinda leaning towards the dc lvl 3 15 w/lvl 5 coils but i think the 18 might do pretty good just wish i could get more info on the 18

where in the fuck did you get smd 18? i only listed 3 subs and that is re audio hc 15, mach 5 audio ixl.4 18" subwoofer, and then a dc audio level 3 15 with level 5 coil.

okay i'm trying to decide between 3 subs here. first is a re audio hc 15 for $135 next would be a dc audio level 3 15" with level 5 coils and dual spiders rated for 1200-1300 rms and lastly would be a mach 5 audio ixl.4 18" subwoofer rated for a 1000 rms. if i get one of the 15's it will be in a 3.3 cubic ft box tuned to 34 hz and if i get the 18 it will be in a 8 cubic ft box tuned to 32 hz

40 hz is kinda high even for 8's i would tune to 36-38 hz and plus they have a fs of 22.8 hz so they should be able to get pretty low for just 8's in the right box

hell 134.2 on two 8's that have a sensitivity of only 81.2 db @ 1w/1m and on only 400 watts is pretty damn good i think you should get 2 sundown sa-8's on about 1000 watts rms and you should see some pretty good numbers

for that sub i would do 2-2.5 cubic ft tuned to 32 hz with 40-50 sq inches of port area and you should be pleased with that

i got a working dc level 3 15 that i'll sell for a $100 shipped but it has a hole in the surround so thats why its so cheap. you could use the motor off of it

its gonna be a sick home theater system and i was gonna tune to like 26 hz which is kinda high for a home theater but you could get some pretty good output at that frequency
