  1. Excuse me, I have to clean the shit off my pants... ...but seriously, who wants to do a speaker trade embargo 'till they drop the prices? All foreigners deserve good speakers (Except for Canada :jk: )
  2. Anyone else out there specialize in pro/recorded audio for a living, or play/work with a band, or do anything related to fields like that? I'm in school in Chillicothe (Recording Workshop) & planning to continue on with my DJ/live sound business after this is done, or look for a studio job that will help fund it. ...I can't be the only one
  3. Hm, may have to take a drive up there sometime. Anyone that can build boxes? I'll pay.
  4. Looking for someone in the southern Ohio area (along US 23 from Columbus south) to help me out with some box building...and try to find some people with systems. Always good to expand your knowledge & meet new people.
  5. WillPwn4Food I can't really take a pic of the sub since its two MTX 9500 dual 4's already in a box. I know its not the ideal home audio set up but the box is a modified T-Line so i wanted to give it a chance and see how it works. I would be wiring the subs to a 4 ohm load overall which the behringer does 2000 watts into 4 ohms (bridged mono) the reciever i'm using is a pioneer VSX 921-K. iceman1575 I don't quite get what you mean about RCA->1/4"->DI box->XLR? What is a DI box? And how do you go from RCA->1/4"->DI box->XLR. If you read above you will see what the subs are i'm working with for this so i'm not really worried about power to them thats for sure. Is that DI Box something like this...... http://www.sweetwate...il/SDirectPlus/ or is there any of these you would reccommend more? I don't really want a spend a boat load of money http://www.sweetwate..._Boxes/low2high . Upon further looking on that sweet water site i think i understand what you meant now. Just not sure what of the RCA spots on the back of the unit i should use? Would the Subwoofer out work? So it would go Woofer out>1/4">DI Box> XLR, or does it have to be a left and right RCA to 1/4"? I've attached a link to what the back of the receiver looks like http://www.pioneerel...20Sheet_v11.pdf. **Edit** Did some more research and I think I got it Sub Preout off reciever -> Male RCA to Dual Female RCA -> Dual Male RCA to Dual 1/4" RCA ( balanced or unbalance???) -> DI Box to XLR (1 or 2 XLR cables??) -> Power Amp. Then the Subs wired to 4 ohms in to the bridged mono terminals. Does all that sound right? This is assuming i'm using the Samson S-Direct Plus DI Box. You don't have to use the DI box, just a suggestion to avoid any issues with ground noise. You could just go direct RCA to 1/4" in, but that's my opinion. I like overdoing things and making sure every crease is covered. But you do have the idea. I just make things complicated
  6. I'm trying to get the look and style of the Chevy 2500-series pickups on my 1500. Aside from motor, tranny, & chassis, they share the same basic body style, but the 2500HD's have a "beefier" look to them, more specifically the wheel well flares. Anyone know of a good place to get some wheel well flares & such to give my truck the appearance of a 2500? Just little things here & there to add the look to my truck.
  7. Hm, actually never thought of that...Eh, plans may be changing again anyways, I can never make up my mind. Trying to decide between a pair of 6.5's in the front door, or all 5.25's all around (2 pairs of 5.25's in the front, 2 in back)
  8. My guess would be he is trying not to cut extra holes and run the tweeters from their location on the coax. Bingo. Plus, they're cheaper, lol
  9. He is talking about buying a set of coaxils and dissconecting the tweeter from the mid (in terms of wires) and running the tweeters Off a seperate amp/channel thanks for beating me to it. Theoretically it shouldn't if they were made that way Ehh I might give it a try.
  10. ...for my truck, would it be worthless to buy a set of coaxials, unsolder the HF leads, & run new wires for them so I can run the door speakers through a crossover or biamped? Or would it be worth a try? Worse comes to worse, solder the leads back with the original cap I guess...
  11. You will either need to go from RCA -> 1/4" cable or (preferred) RCA->1/4"->DI box->XLR. The DI box will help convert the unbalanced signal to a balanced signal and help deal with any ground issues. Now if you're running just a single subwoofer on that 2000, I'd say run the amp in bridge mono (if impedance is 4 ohms or higher), parallel inputs, & use the two positive leads on the amp (that's how Behringer sets up their bridge mono mode), just be careful as to how much signal you send through...
  12. Im sorry man, Everyone here and when I watch the news call this eastern KY. I am not seeming to have much luck and the celica needs walled for this year. Haha, it might be considered eastern KY
  13. Man, I thought when you were saying eastern KY I figured you would mean actually Eastern KY... I'm on the border of KY/WV...or I'd be willing to help haul MDF...
  14. Are you listening from the drivers seat or from the middle of the cabin?
  15. Ygpm...don't feel bad, I'm on my iPad and it just tried to autocorrect that to a bunch of gibberish, lol
  16. If you're asking for one only, I won't ship them separate unless they're both going to be sold...
  17. 2 Audioque SDC2.5 12" baskets/motors, need recones. Cones have been removed, nothing else has been done. Asking $100 + shipping, will meet within 2 hours of Chillicothe, Ohio or Ashland, KY. Will only trade for working set of 8's, preferably SA8's, one pair even, will throw cash on for 2 pairs. Yes, they were taken with an iPad 2 substituting my piece of paper...I have no paper/pen here...lmfao.
  18. oh yah? stfu Like I said mod the brackets. Or depending on the model/year you can search online for a kit. -.- Nevermind, I'll ask elsewhere since every topic has to turn into a fight about something completely different...Mods, feel free to lock...
  19. /facepalm Take this stupid argument somewhere else. Anyways, are there kits out there to allow the rear seat to fold down? And I was thinking some steel tubing, I have a couple friends that weld/do metalwork that could probably do it for me...
  20. (Yes, I realize I've made like 2587198723879132 topics ) I'm hoping to raise the seat in my Silverado to accomodate larger boxes (more specifically around a 4x10 idea). What's the easiest way to raise the rear seat between 2-4". Also, is there a way to get the rear part of the seat to fold down, I.E. to access amps mounted behind the seat? Just wondering, thanks.
  21. I honestly have no idea either, it's a nice concept, just have to make it feasable. But I mean, if a single HD camera can record 3-6 hours on a small battery pack, using a large battery with multiple ones should allow minimum 12+ hour recording times.
  22. ...when I get my truck redone, & make it look nice, I'm going to take a mini-PC with very small power draw, hook 3-4 micro webcams to it, & install it in my vehicle recording while it's parked overnight, etc. I'm surprised I haven't seen anything like this go large scale as of yet...would be a nice thing to have for those that have really nice stereo's... IF someone did something like this mainstream, would anyone purchase it? I was thinking wide lense cameras on the inside on the opposite side of where they're facing (left side facing right side, & opposite), one to front, & one to rear/trunk. Making something small enough like that but wouldn't be noticed would be a tough challenge, but interesting...
  23. Anyone know the best place to get a set of 2500-style flares for an '01 1500? I've always liked the look of the larger flares since I saw a 2007 1500 with 'em on it. P.S. Sorry if what I'm saying doesn't make sense, its 3:30AM & I'm trying to word it the best I can Also, would it be a tough job doing a first paint job on my truck, or would I be better off hiring someone with more knowledge to do it? I was thinking of getting mine painted black...always liked black trucks. o.o
